Mass air flow meter 2AD-FHV On-vehicle inspection

NOTICE:

  1. Perform the MAF meter inspection according to the procedures below.
  2. Only replace the MAF meter when the MAF value in the DATA LIST (with the engine stopped) is not within the normal operating range.
1. CHECK MASS AIR FLOW METER

  1. Read the value using the intelligent tester (MAF).

    NOTICE:

    1. Turn off the engine.
    2. Perform the inspection with the vehicle indoors and on a level surface.
    3. Perform the inspection of the MAF meter while it is installed to the air cleaner case (installed to the vehicle).
    4. During the test, do not use the exhaust air duct to perform suction on the exhaust pipe.
     
    1. Turn the ignition switch on (IG).

    2. Turn the tester ON.

    3. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / MAF.

    4. Wait 30 seconds, and read the values on the intelligent tester.

      Standard condition:

      Less than 0.55 g/sec.

      1. If the result is not as specified, replace the MAF meter.

Removal

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE MASS AIR FLOW METER

Disconnect the MAF meter connector 2AD-FHV

  1. Disconnect the MAF meter connector.

  2. Remove the 2 screws and MAF meter.

  3. Remove the O-ring from the MAF meter.

Installation

1. INSTALL MASS AIR FLOW METER

Install a new O-ring to the MAF meter 2AD-FHV

  1. Install a new O-ring to the MAF meter.

  2. Install the MAF meter with the 2 screws.

  3. Connect the MAF meter connector.

2. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
