Lexus IS250 IS220d GSE20 ALE20 - AXLE
STEERING KNUCKLE - REMOVAL
1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL |
2. DISCONNECT FRONT SPEED SENSOR |

Disconnect the speed sensor connector from the front speed sensor.
- NOTICE:
- Prevent foreign matter from adhering to the speed sensor.
3. SEPARATE FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY |

Remove the No. 1 caliper plates from the brake caliper.
- NOTICE:
- Use wire or equivalent to prevent the brake caliper from hanging down by the flexible hose.
4. REMOVE FRONT DISC |
5. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB SUB-ASSEMBLY |

Remove the 4 bolts, front axle hub sub-assembly and front disc brake dust cover.
6. SEPARATE FRONT LOWER BALL JOINT ASSEMBLY |

Remove the 2 bolts and steering knuckle from the lower ball joint.
7. REMOVE STEERING KNUCKLE |

Remove the clip and nut.

Using SST, remove the steering knuckle from the upper suspension arm.

- NOTICE:
Use caution not to damage the steering knuckle because it is made of aluminum and may be damaged easily.
Do not damage the ball joint dust cover.
Make sure that the SST is securely positioned on the steering knuckle spacer.
If the steering knuckle spacer has come off, replace the steering knuckle with a new one.
Make sure that the string of the SST is securely tied to the vehicle.
