INSPECT TOTAL PRELOAD

Temporarily install the left and right steering rack ends to prevent steering rack overstroke.

Using SST and a torque wrench, inspect preload.

• 09616-00011

• Preload (turning):
• 1.0 to 2.0 N*m (10.2 to 20.4 kgf*cm, 8.9 to 17.7 in.*lbf)

• HINT:

• If turning torque is not as specified, replace the power steering gear assembly.
