Lexus IS250 IS220d GSE20 ALE20 - BRAKE CONTROL

VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM (w/ VDIM) - CALIBRATION

DESCRIPTION
After replacing the VSC relevant components or performing "Front wheel alignment adjustment", clear and read the sensor calibration data.
Follow the chart to perform calibration.

Skid Control ECUYaw rate and acceleration sensor zero point calibration and system information storing.
Yaw Rate and Acceleration Sensor
Clearing zero point calibration data.
Yaw rate and acceleration sensor zero point calibration.
Front Wheel Alignment Adjustment
Clearing zero point calibration data.
Yaw rate and acceleration sensor zero point calibration.
PERFORM YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION AND STORE SYSTEM INFORMATION (INTELLIGENT TESTER)
  • NOTICE:
Stored system information cannot be overwritten unless it is cleared. If any system information has already been stored, erase the stored information and then store new system information.
While obtaining the zero point, do not vibrate the vehicle by tilting, moving or shaking it and keep it stationary. (Do not start the engine.)
Be sure to do this on a level surface (with an inclination of less than 1 degree).
Vehicle Stability Control System (W/ Vdim) - Calibration. BRAKE CONTROL. Lexus IS250 IS220d GSE20 ALE20

Clear the zero point calibration data and system information.

  • NOTICE:
  • Performing the following procedure will clear the zero point of the yaw rate and acceleration sensor, and also system information simultaneously.

Turn the engine switch off.

Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

Check that the steering wheel is centered and apply the parking brake.

Turn the engine switch on (IG).

Operate the intelligent tester to erase the codes (select "Reset Memory").

  • HINT:
  • Refer to the intelligent tester operator's manual for further details.

Turn the engine switch off.

  • NOTICE:
  • If the vehicle is driven after the zero point of the yaw rate and acceleration sensor and system information is cleared, DTCs will be stored.

Perform the yaw rate and acceleration sensor zero point calibration and store system information.

  • NOTICE:
  • Performing the following procedure will perform the yaw rate and acceleration sensor zero point calibration, and also store system information simultaneously.

Turn the engine switch off.

Check that the steering wheel is centered and apply the parking brake.

  • NOTICE:
DTCs C1210/36 and C1336/98 will be recorded if the parking brake is not applied .
If a DTC is stored that indicates zero point calibration is incomplete, repeat the procedure starting at the step for clearing the zero point calibration data and system information.

Vehicle Stability Control System (W/ Vdim) - Calibration. BRAKE CONTROL. Lexus IS250 IS220d GSE20 ALE20

Set the intelligent tester to Test Mode (select "Test Mode").

  • HINT:
  • Refer to the intelligent tester operator's manual for further details.

After the Test Mode has been entered, keep the vehicle stationary on a level surface for 2 seconds or more.

Vehicle Stability Control System (W/ Vdim) - Calibration. BRAKE CONTROL. Lexus IS250 IS220d GSE20 ALE20

Check that the master caution indicator light blinks and "VSC TEST MODE" is displayed on the multi information display (Test Mode).

  • HINT:
If the master caution indicator light does not blink and/or "VSC TEST MODE" is not displayed on the multi information display, perform zero point calibration again.
The zero point calibration is performed only once after the system enters the Test Mode.
Calibration cannot be performed again until the stored data is cleared once.

Turn the engine switch off and disconnect the intelligent tester.
