WINDSHIELD GLASS - REMOVAL
| 1. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL |
Remove the 11 clips and intake duct seal.
| 2. REMOVE SIDE ENGINE ROOM COVER LH (for 4GR-FSE) |
Remove the 5 clips and side cover.
| 3. REMOVE SIDE ENGINE ROOM COVER LH (for 2AD-FHV) |
Remove the 4 clips and side cover.
| 4. REMOVE SIDE ENGINE ROOM COVER RH (for 4GR-FSE) |
Remove the 2 clips and side cover.
| 5. REMOVE SIDE ENGINE ROOM COVER RH (for 2AD-FHV) |
Remove the 2 clips and side cover.
| 6. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR LH |
Using a clip remover, separate the clip on the rubber portion of the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly from the front upper fender protector LH.
Disengage the 3 clips and the claw to remove the front upper fender protector LH.
| 7. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR RH |
- HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side.
| 8. REMOVE ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING LH |
Put protective tape around the roof drip side finish moulding.
Using a moulding remover, disengage the 6 clips and remove the roof drip side finish moulding.

| 10. REMOVE NO. 1 WINDSHIELD MOULDING OUTSIDE CLIP |
- HINT:
- Perform the following procedure if replacing the No. 1 windshield outside moulding clips.
Remove the 5 No. 1 windshield outside moulding clips.
| 11. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP |
Using a screwdriver, remove the front wiper arm head cap.
- HINT:
| 12. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH |
Remove the nut and the front wiper arm and blade assembly LH.
| 13. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH |
Remove the nut and the front wiper arm and blade assembly RH.
| 14. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Remove the 2 clips.
Disengage the 11 claws, and pull out the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly.
| 15. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (w/o Illumination) |
Put protective tape around the front door scuff plate.
Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 clips.
Disengage the 7 claws and remove the front door scuff plate LH.
| 16. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (w/ Illumination) |
Put protective tape around the front door scuff plate.
Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 clips.
Disengage the 7 claws and remove the front door scuff plate LH.
Disconnect the connector.
| 17. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH |
Disengage the 6 claws and remove the front door opening trim cover LH.
| 18. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH |
Disengage the 2 clips from the vehicle body.
Cut off the clip <A-.
Disengage the claw and remove the front pillar garnish LH.
Remove the clip <A- from the vehicle body.
Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.
Thoroughly cover the airbag with a cloth or nylon sheet and fix the ends of the cover with adhesive tape, as shown in the illustration.
- NOTICE:
- Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.

| 21. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER RH |
Disengage the 6 claws and remove the front door opening trim cover RH.
| 22. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH |
| 23. REMOVE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR STAY HOLDER COVER (w/ EC Mirror) |
Disengage the 2 claws and remove the inner rear view mirror stay holder cover as shown in the illustration.
| 24. REMOVE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (w/o Sliding Roof) |
Using a screwdriver, disengage the 3 claws and open the cover.
Remove the 2 screws.
Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 clips.
Disconnect the connector. Remove the map light assembly.
| 25. REMOVE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (w/ Sliding Roof) |
Using a screwdriver, disengage the 3 claws and open the cover.
Remove the 2 screws.
Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 clips.
Disconnect the connector. Remove the map light assembly.
| 26. REMOVE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY (w/ EC Mirror) |
Disconnect the connector.
Using a "torx" socket wrench (T20), remove the screw and the inner rear view mirror.
| 27. REMOVE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY (w/o EC Mirror) |
Disengage the 2 claws and the cover.
Pull the lever in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration and slide the inner rear view mirror assembly upward to remove it.
| 28. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws and remove the 2 assist grip covers.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
Disengage the 2 clips and remove the assist grip sub-assembly.
- HINT:
- Use the same procedure for the other 3 assist grips.
| 29. REMOVE VISOR BRACKET COVER |
Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws and remove the visor bracket cover.
- HINT:
- Use the same procedure to remove the cover on the other side.
| 30. REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY LH |
Remove the 2 screws and visor assembly LH.
| 31. REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY RH |
| 32. REMOVE VISOR HOLDER |
Remove the visor holder by turning it counterclockwise.
- HINT:
- Use the same procedure to remove the holder on the other side.
| 33. REMOVE RAIN SENSOR (w/ Rain Sensor) |
Release the stopper by pulling it down.
Disconnect the connector and remove the rain sensor as shown in the illustration.
| 34. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY (w/o Sliding Roof) |
It is not necessary to completely remove the roof headlining assembly. Slightly lower the front section of the roof headlining assembly so that the windshield glass can be removed .
| 35. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY (w/ Sliding Roof) |
It is not necessary to completely remove the roof headlining assembly. Slightly lower the front section of the roof headlining assembly so that the windshield glass can be removed .
| 36. REMOVE WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE MOULDING |
Using a knife, cut off the moulding, as shown in the illustration.
- NOTICE:
- Do not damage the vehicle body with the knife.
Remove the remaining moulding from the vehicle body.
- HINT:
- When removing, make a partial cut, then pull and remove it by hand.
| 37. REMOVE WINDSHIELD GLASS |
Pass a piano wire between the vehicle body and glass from the interior.
Tie both wire ends to wooden blocks or similar objects.
- NOTICE:
- HINT:
- Apply protective tape to the outer surface to prevent the surface from being scratched.
Place matchmarks over the glass and vehicle body on the locations indicated in the illustration.
- HINT:
- Matchmarks do not need to be placed if the glass is not going to be reused.
Cut off the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the glass.
Using a suction cup, remove the glass.
- NOTICE:
- Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible when removing the glass.
| 38. REMOVE NO. 2 WINDSHIELD GLASS STOPPER |
Using a scraper, remove the No. 2 windshield glass stoppers.
| 39. REMOVE NO. 1 WINDSHIELD GLASS STOPPER |
Remove the No. 1 windshield glass stoppers.
| 40. CLEAN WINDSHIELD GLASS |
Using a scraper, remove the damaged stoppers, dam and adhesive sticking to the glass.
Clean the outer circumference of the glass with non-residue type solvent.
