ROOF HEADLINING - REMOVAL
1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY (for Power Seat) |
2. REMOVE FRONT OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH (for Power Seat) |
Operate the power seat switch knob and move the seat to the rearmost position.

Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the seat track bracket cover outer front LH.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
3. REMOVE FRONT INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH (for Power Seat) |
4. REMOVE REAR OUTER SEAT TRACK COVER LH (for Power Seat) |
Operate the power seat switch knob and move the seat to the position farthest forward.

Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the front seat track cover rear outer LH.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
5. REMOVE REAR INNER SEAT TRACK COVER LH (for Power Seat) |
6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH (for Power Seat) |
Operate the power seat switch knob and move the seat to the rearmost position.

Remove the 2 bolts on the front seat track bracket.
Operate the power seat switch knob and move the seat to the position farthest forward.

Remove the 2 bolts on the rear seat track bracket.
Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent the airbag and seat belt pretensioner from deploying .
Disconnect the connectors under the seat. Then remove the seat.
7. REMOVE FRONT OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER RH (for Power Seat) |
8. REMOVE FRONT INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER RH (for Power Seat) |
9. REMOVE REAR OUTER SEAT TRACK COVER RH (for Power Seat) |
10. REMOVE REAR INNER SEAT TRACK COVER RH (for Power Seat) |
11. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH (for Power Seat) |
12. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (for Manual Seat) |
- CAUTION:
- Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag from deploying .
13. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY (for Manual Seat) |
14. REMOVE FRONT INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH (for Manual Seat) |
Move the front seat assembly to the rearmost position by operating the slide handle.

Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the front inner seat track bracket cover.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
15. REMOVE FRONT OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH (for Manual Seat) |

Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the front outer seat track bracket cover.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
16. REMOVE REAR OUTER SEAT TRACK COVER LH (for Manual Seat) |
Move the front seat assembly fully forward by operating the slide handle.

Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the rear seat outer track bracket cover.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
17. REMOVE REAR INNER SEAT TRACK COVER LH (for Manual Seat) |

Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the rear inner seat track bracket cover.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
18. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH (for Manual Seat) |
Move the front seat assembly to the rearmost position by operating the slide handle.

Remove the 2 bolts on the front seat track bracket.
Move the front seat assembly fully forward by operating the slide handle.

Remove the 2 bolts on the rear seat track bracket.
Move the front seat assembly to the center position and adjust the seatback to the vertical position by operating the slide and reclining adjuster release handle.
Disconnect the connectors and clamp.
Remove the front seat assembly.
- NOTICE:
- When removing the passenger side front seat assembly, be careful not to step on the yaw rate sensor mounted on the floor under the seat.
19. REMOVE FRONT INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER RH (for Manual Seat) |
20. REMOVE FRONT OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER RH (for Manual Seat) |
21. REMOVE REAR OUTER SEAT TRACK COVER RH (for Manual Seat) |

24. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY |

Detach the 2 front hooks of the seat cushion from the vehicle body.
- NOTICE:
- Follow the instructions below carefully as the cushion frame deforms easily.
Choose a hook to detach first. Place your hands near the hook as shown in the illustration. Then lift the seat cushion to detach the hook.
Repeat for the other hook.
Detach the 2 rear hooks of the seat cushion from the seatback.
Remove the seat cushion.
25. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY |

27. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY |

Using a screwdriver, detach the claws to open the cap of the 3 rear seat shoulder belt guides.

Using a screwdriver, detach the claw to open the cap of the 3 rear seat shoulder belt guides.

Remove the 4 bolts and rear seatback assembly.
28. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD |
29. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission) |

Turn the shift lever knob counterclockwise and remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly.
30. REMOVE UPPER NO. 1 CONSOLE PANEL GARNISH (for Automatic Transmission) |

Using a moulding remover, disengage the claw.

Pull the upper No. 1 console panel garnish in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 2 clips and remove it.
31. REMOVE UPPER NO. 2 CONSOLE PANEL GARNISH (for Automatic Transmission) |

Using a moulding remover, disengage the claw.

Pull the upper No. 2 console panel garnish in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 2 clips and remove it.
32. REMOVE CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission) |

Disengage the 8 clips.
Disconnect the connectors and remove the console panel sub-assembly.
33. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission) |

Turn the shift lever knob counterclockwise and remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly.
34. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission) |

Open the snap.

Disengage the 7 claws and 2 clips, and then remove the rear console panel sub-assembly.
35. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission) |

Open the snap.

Pull the front console panel sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 6 clips and remove it.
36. REMOVE FRONT ASH RECEPTACLE SUB-ASSEMBLY |

Remove the 2 screws <F-.

Pull the front ash receptacle sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow to disconnect the connectors and remove it.
37. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX REGISTER ASSEMBLY |

Remove the rear ash receptacle assembly.
Disengage the 2 claws and 4 clips, and then remove the console box register assembly.
38. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX |

Remove the 2 bolts <C-.
Disconnect the 2 connectors.
Disengage the 2 clamps.

Remove the 2 bolts <C-.
Disconnect the connector.

Remove the 2 bolts <C-.

Disengage the 2 claws and 2 clips, and then remove the console box.
39. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY |

Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

Apply protective tape to the areas shown in the illustration.

Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws starting from the right of the No. 3 instrument panel register assembly. Disengage the remaining 3 claws by pulling the No. 3 instrument panel register assembly by hand.
- NOTICE:
- Do not pry the lower part of the No. 3 instrument panel register assembly. Doing so may damage the assembly.
Disconnect the connectors.
40. REMOVE CENTER LOWER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL |

Disengage the 4 claws and remove the center lower instrument cluster finish panel.
41. REMOVE MULTI-DISPLAY WITH RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Navigation System) |

Remove the 4 bolts.
Pull the multi-display w/ radio receiver assembly toward the rear of the vehicle.
Disconnect each connector and remove the multi-display.
42. REMOVE INTEGRATION CONTROL PANEL WITH RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (w/o Navigation System) |

Remove the 4 bolts.
Pull the integration control panel w/ radio receiver assembly toward the rear of the vehicle.
Disconnect each connector and remove the panel.
43. REMOVE LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER |

Using a screwdriver, remove the steering wheel No.3 cover lower.
- HINT:
- Tape up the screwdriver tip before use.
44. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER |

Using a screwdriver, remove the steering wheel No.2 cover lower.
- HINT:
- Tape up the screwdriver tip before use.
45. REMOVE STEERING PAD |

Using a "torx" socket wrench (T30), loosen the 2 "torx" screws until the groove along the screw circumference catches on the screw case.

Pull out the steering pad from the steering wheel assembly and support the steering pad with one hand as shown in the illustration.
- NOTICE:
- When removing the steering pad, do not pull the airbag wire harness.
Disconnect the horn connector.
Disconnect the 2 connectors from the steering pad.
- NOTICE:
- When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
Remove the steering pad.
46. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY |
For Manual Tilt
For Power Tilt and Power Telescopic
47. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic) |

Remove the 3 screws.
Disengage the 2 claws to remove the steering column cover lower.
- NOTICE:
- Do not damage the tilt and telescopic switch.

Disengage the 4 clips to separate the steering column cover upper.
Disengage the claw to remove the steering column cover upper.
48. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (for Manual Tilt and Telescopic) |

Remove the 2 screws.
Disengage the 2 claws to remove the lower steering column cover.

Disengage the 4 clips to separate the steering column cover upper.
Disengage the claw to remove the upper steering column cover.
49. REMOVE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Disconnect the connectors from the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly.

Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and remove the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly from the steering column assembly.
50. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (w/o Illumination) |

Put protective tape around the front door scuff plate.
Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 clips.

Disengage the 7 claws and remove the front door scuff plate LH.
51. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (w/o Illumination) |
52. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (w/ Illumination) |

Put protective tape around the front door scuff plate.
Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 clips.

Disengage the 7 claws and remove the front door scuff plate LH.
Disconnect the connector.
53. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (w/ Illumination) |
54. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH |

Disengage the 4 claws and remove the front door opening trim cover LH.
55. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER RH |
56. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH |

Disengage the 2 clips from the vehicle body.
Cut off the clip <A-.
Disengage the claw and remove the front pillar garnish LH.
Remove the clip <A- from the vehicle body.

Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.
Thoroughly cover the airbag with a cloth or nylon sheet and fix the ends of the cover with adhesive tape, as shown in the illustration.
- NOTICE:
- Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.
57. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH |
58. REMOVE SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL LH |

Using a moulding remover, disengage the 5 claws and 3 clips, and then remove the side instrument panel LH.
59. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY |

Remove the 2 screws <E-.
Push the 2 claws in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage them.
Remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly from the guide as shown in the illustration and pull the cover toward the rear of the vehicle.
Disconnect the connectors and remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.
60. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY |

Disengage the 7 clips.
Disconnect the connectors and remove the lower instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly.
61. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY |

Remove the 4 bolts and driver side knee airbag assembly.
Disconnect the connector.
- NOTICE:
- When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
62. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY |

Remove the 2 screws <G- and 2 clips, and then remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.
63. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY |

Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
Disconnect the connectors and remove the combination meter assembly.
64. REMOVE SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL RH |

Using a moulding remover, disengage the 5 claws and 3 clips, and then remove the side instrument panel RH.
65. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY |

Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 clips and remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.
66. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY |

Remove the 3 bolts and front passenger side knee airbag assembly.
Disconnect the connector.
- NOTICE:
- When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
67. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY |

Remove the 5 screws <E-.
Disengage the 2 claws.
Disconnect the connectors and remove the glove compartment door assembly.
68. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY |
Pull the No. 1 instrument panel register assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 7 claws and 2 clips, and then disconnect the connector and remove it.
69. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY |
Pull the No. 2 instrument panel register assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 4 claws and 2 clips, and then disconnect the connector and remove it.
70. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY |

Using a screwdriver, disengage the 7 claws and remove the No. 3 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
71. REMOVE FRONT STEREO COMPONENT SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (w/ Front Center Speaker) |

Remove the 2 bolts.
Lift the front stereo component speaker assembly and disconnect the connector to remove the speaker assembly.
- NOTICE:
- Do not touch the cone part of the speaker.
72. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX DUCT (for Automatic Transmission) |

Remove the 2 clips and No. 2 console box duct.
73. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT (for Automatic Transmission) |

Remove the clip and No. 1 console box duct.
74. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX DUCT (for Manual Transmission) |

Remove the clip and No. 2 console box duct.
75. DISCONNECT PASSENGER AIRBAG CONNECTOR |

Disconnect the connector.
76. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD ASSEMBLY |
Disengage the clamps.
Disconnect the connectors.
Disengage the 2 claws and separate the cooler thermistor.
Remove the 6 bolts <D- and nut <H-.
Remove the 2 passenger airbag bolts <A- or <B-.
Disengage the 2 clamps.
Disengage the 5 claws and remove the instrument panel safety pad assembly.
77. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLIP |
Disengage the claw and remove the 4 instrument panel clips.
78. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL STAY |
Disengage the claw and remove the instrument panel stay.
79. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 FLOOR PANEL BRACE (for Automatic Transmission) |

Remove the 4 bolts and rear No. 1 floor panel brace.
80. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE (for Automatic Transmission) |

Remove the 4 bolts and front center floor brace .
81. DISCONNECT OXYGEN SENSOR (for Automatic Transmission) |

Remove the grommets of the heated oxygen sensors (BANK 1, BANK 2).

Using the SST, remove a oxygen sensors (BANK 1, BANK 2).

82. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission) |

Remove the 4 bolts and 4 nuts.

Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs from the tail exhaust pipe assembly.
Remove the front exhaust pipe assembly and 3 gaskets.
83. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR (for Automatic Transmission) |

Remove the 4 nuts and front No. 1 floor heat insulator.
84. SEPARATE FLOOR SHIFT GEAR SHIFTING ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission) |

Remove the nut and separate the floor shift gear shifting rod sub-assembly.
85. REMOVE TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission) |

Disconnect the 2 connectors.
Remove the 4 bolts.
Remove the floor shift assembly.
86. REMOVE NO. 1 SHIFT AND SELECT LEVER BOOT (for Manual Transmission) |

Remove the 4 bolts and No. 1 shift and select lever boot.
87. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER CAP (for Manual Transmission) |

Turn over the shift lever dust cover.
Remove the 4 bolts and shift lever cap.
88. REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission) |

Turn over the shift and select lever boot.
Using a screwdriver, remove the E-ring and floor shift lever assembly.
Remove the washer from the floor shift lever assembly.

Remove the 2 bushings from the floor shift lever assembly.
89. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH |

Put protective tape around the rear door scuff plate.
Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 clips.

Disengage the 5 claws and remove the the rear door scuff plate LH.

91. REMOVE LAP BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER |

Disengage the 2 claws and remove the lap belt outer anchor cover.
- HINT:
- Use the same procedure to remove the cover on the other side.
92. SEPARATE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH |

Remove the bolt and separate the front seat outer belt assembly LH.

Disengage the 3 claws and 5 clips, and remove the lower center pillar garnish LH.

Remove the 2 screws.
Disengage the 2 claws and remove the center pillar garnish LH by pulling it down.

Disengage the 2 claws and remove the inner rear view mirror stay holder cover as shown in the illustration.
103. REMOVE RAIN SENSOR (w/ Rain Sensor) |

Release the stopper by pulling it down.

Disconnect the connector and remove the rain sensor as shown in the illustration.
104. REMOVE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (w/o Sliding Roof) |
Using a screwdriver, disengage the 3 claws and open the cover.
Remove the 2 screws.
Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 clips.
Disconnect the connector. Remove the map light assembly.
105. REMOVE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (w/ Sliding Roof) |
Using a screwdriver, disengage the 3 claws and open the cover.
Remove the 2 screws.
Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 clips.
Disconnect the connector. Remove the map light assembly.
106. REMOVE SPOT LIGHT ASSEMBLY |

Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 clips.
Disconnect the connector. Remove the spot light assembly.
107. REMOVE COAT HOOK |

Remove the screw and coat hook.
- HINT:
- Use the same procedure to remove the hook on the other side.
108. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws and remove the 2 assist grip covers.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
Disengage the 2 clips and remove the assist grip sub-assembly.
- HINT:
- Use the same procedure for the other 3 assist grips.
109. REMOVE VISOR BRACKET COVER |

Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws and remove the visor bracket cover.
- HINT:
- Use the same procedure to remove the cover on the other side.
110. REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY LH |

Remove the 2 screws and visor assembly LH.

112. REMOVE VISOR HOLDER |

Remove the visor holder by turning it counterclockwise.
- HINT:
- Use the same procedure to remove the holder on the other side.
113. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY (w/o Sliding Roof) |

Disconnect the roof wire connector and disengage each clamp from the front pillar LH.
Disconnect each connector from the map light assembly.

Disengage the hook, 10 claws and 2 clips.

Remove the roof headlining assembly from the vehicle through the front right door.
114. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY (w/ Sliding Roof) |

Disconnect the roof wire connector and disengage each clamp from the front pillar LH.
Disconnect each connector from the map light assembly.

Disengage the hook, 10 claws, 8 fasteners and 2 clips.

Remove the roof headlining assembly from the vehicle through the front right door.
115. REMOVE ROOF SILENCER PAD (w/o Sliding Roof) |

Remove the roof silencer pad.
116. REMOVE REAR SIDE RAIL SPACER (w/o Sliding Roof) |

Remove the rear side rail spacer.
117. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING PAD (w/o Sliding Roof) |

Remove the roof headlining pad.
118. REMOVE REAR SIDE RAIL SPACER (w/ Sliding Roof) |

Remove the rear side rail spacer.
119. REMOVE VANITY LIGHT ASSEMBLY |

Disengage the claw <A- and separate the bulb holder from the vanity light, as shown in the illustration.
Disengage the claw <B- and remove the vanity light assembly.
- HINT:
- Use the same procedure to remove the light on the other side.
120. REMOVE NO. 1 ROOF WIRE |
Remove the double-sided tape and roof wire.
