Lexus IS250 IS220d GSE20 ALE20 - ENGINE HOOD / DOOR
FRONT DOOR - DISASSEMBLY
1. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL PLUG |

Using a screwdriver wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 3 claws, and remove the front door inside handle bezel plug.
2. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY |

Using a screwdriver wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 4 claws and the 2 clips.
Disconnect the connector and remove the power window regulator master switch assembly.
3. REMOVE COURTESY LIGHT ASSEMBLY |

Disengage the claw and remove the courtesy light assembly.
Disconnect the connector.
4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY |

Remove the 2 screws.
Using the clip remover, disengage the 9 clips.

Pull out the front door trim board in the direction indicated by the arrow.
Remove the reference bosses from the front door panel.
Raise the front door trim board to disengage the 4 claws and remove the front door trim board together with the front door inner glass weatherstrip.

Disconnect the cables and each connector from the back side of the inside handle and remove the front door trim board sub-assembly.
Remove the 2 front door trim board retainers (green) from the front door trim board.
5. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY |

Disengage the 2 clamps.
Remove the 3 screws and front No. 2 speaker w/ cover.

Disengage the 3 claws and remove the cover.

Remove the front No. 2 speaker assembly.
- NOTICE:
- Do not touch the cone part of the speaker.
6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INNER GLASS WEATHERSTRIP |

Disengage the 4 clips as shown in the illustration and remove the front door inner glass weatherstrip from the front door trim board.
7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY |

Remove the 3 screws and the bracket.

Remove the 4 screws and the front door inside handle sub-assembly.
8. REMOVE SEAT MEMORY SWITCH (w/ Seat Position Memory System) |

Disconnect the connector.
Remove the 2 screws and memory switch.
9. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM COVER |

Remove the screw.
Using the clip remover, disengage the 6 clips and remove the front door trim cover.
10. REMOVE DOOR FRAME GARNISH |

Using the clip remover, remove the 2 clips and the door frame garnish.
11. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY |

Disconnect the connector.
Remove the 3 bolts and front No. 1 speaker assembly.
- NOTICE:
- Do not touch the cone part of the speaker.
12. REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY |

Disconnect the connector.
Remove the 2 bolts and front No. 3 speaker assembly.
- NOTICE:
- Do not touch the cone part of the speaker.
13. REMOVE OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU (w/ Memory) |

Disconnect each connector.
Remove the 2 screws and the outer mirror control ECU.
14. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER |

Disconnect each connector and each clamp, and remove the front door service hole cover.
- HINT:
- Remove the remaining butyl tape on the door side.
15. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY |

Remove the hole plug.
Connect the power window regulator master switch assembly and move the front door glass sub-assembly so that the door glass bolts can be seen.

Remove the 2 bolts.
- NOTICE:
- After the bolts are removed, the door glass may fall and become deformed.

Remove the front door glass sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
- NOTICE:
- Do not damage the door glass.
Disconnect the power window regulator master switch assembly.
16. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY |

Disconnect the connector.
Loosen the temporary bolt.
- NOTICE:
- If the temporary bolt is removed, the front door window regulator may fall and become deformed.
Remove the 5 bolts.
Remove the front door window regulator sub-assembly and the power window regulator motor assembly front as a unit.
Remove the temporary bolt from the front door window regulator sub-assembly.
17. REMOVE FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY |

Using a "torx" driver (T25), remove the 3 screws and the front power window regulator motor assembly.
18. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 DOOR STIFFENER CUSHION |

Remove the 2 bolts.
Remove the double-sided tape and the front No. 1 door stiffener cushion.
19. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS RUN |

Remove the front door glass run.
20. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRONT LOWER FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY |

Remove the 2 bolts and the front door front lower frame sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
21. REMOVE FRONT DOOR REAR LOWER FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY |

Remove the bolt and the front door rear lower frame sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
22. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER |

Using an emergency key, disengage the 2 claws and remove the front door outside handle cover.
23. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY |

Remove the hole plug.
Using a "torx" socket wrench (T30), loosen the screw and remove the front door outside handle cover and the door lock key cylinder as a unit.
- HINT:
- The screw cannot be removed because it is integrated into the front door outside handle frame sub-assembly.

Disconnect the connector.
Using a "torx" socket wrench (T30), loosen the screw.

Remove the front door outside handle assembly as shown in the illustration.
24. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRONT OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD |

Disengage the 3 claws and remove the front door front outside handle pad.
25. REMOVE FRONT DOOR REAR OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD |

Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front door rear outside handle pad.
26. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY |

Using a "torx" socket wrench (T30), remove the 3 screws.
Slide the front door lock assembly downward, pull out the front door lock open rod from the outside handle frame, and remove the front door lock assembly and cables as a unit.
Remove the front door lock open rod from the front door lock assembly.
Remove the door lock wiring harness sealing from the front door lock assembly.
27. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY |

Remove the front door lock remote control cable assembly.
28. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE LOCKING CABLE ASSEMBLY |

Using a screwdriver, disengage the 3 claws.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

Remove the front door inside locking cable assembly.
29. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY |

Using a "torx" socket wrench (T30), loosen the screw.
- HINT:
- The screw cannot be removed because it is integrated into the front door outside handle frame sub-assembly.
Disconnect the connector.
Disengage the 2 clamps.
Disengage the claws and remove the front door outside handle frame sub-assembly.
30. REMOVE DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR |

Remove the screw and door electrical key oscillator.
31. REMOVE OUTER MIRROR PROTECTOR |

Disengage the clamp and disconnect the connector.

Remove the outer mirror protector.
- HINT:
- Remove the remaining tape on the door.
32. REMOVE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY |

Remove the 3 nuts.

Disengage the clamp and remove the outer rear view mirror assembly.
33. REMOVE FRONT DOOR CHECK COVER |

Remove the front door check cover.
34. REMOVE FRONT DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY |

Remove the bolt, 2 nuts, and then front door check assembly.
35. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP |

Using the clip remover, disengage the 21 clips and remove the front door weatherstrip.
36. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRAME COVER |

Remove the nut and front door frame cover.
37. REMOVE FRONT DOOR BELT MOULDING ASSEMBLY |

Fully open the front door glass.
Put protective tape on the door below the front door belt moulding assembly.
Using a moulding remover, disengage the 7 clips and remove the front door belt moulding assembly.
38. REMOVE FRONT DOOR REAR WINDOW FRAME MOULDING |
- HINT:
- When installing the front door rear window frame moulding, heat the vehicle body and front door rear window frame moulding using a heat light.

- NOTICE:
- Do not heat the vehicle body and moulding excessively.
Fully open the front door glass.
Using a heat light, heat the front door rear window frame moulding.

Using a moulding remover, remove the clip and front door rear window frame moulding.
39. REMOVE FRONT DOOR UPPER WINDOW FRAME MOULDING |

Put a 4 mm (0.16 in.) drill bit into a drill.
Tape the 4 mm (0.16 in.) drill bit without the portion of 5 mm (0.20 in.) from the tip covered.
- HINT:
- Tape the 4 mm (0.16 in.) drill bit to prevent the drill bit from going too deep.
Lightly press the drill against the rivets, drill off the flanges of the rivets, and remove the 7 rivets.
- NOTICE:
Using a vacuum cleaner, remove the rivet fragments and shavings from the drilled areas.
Remove the front door upper window frame moulding from the door frame.
