Lexus IS250 IS220d GSE20 ALE20 - DOOR LOCK

POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM - SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

The power door lock system locks/unlocks all the doors.

The master switch and the door control switch on the passenger door send "lock/unlock" request signals to the main body ECU RH. Then, the main body ECU RH sends these request signals to the lock motors in each door to lock/unlock all the doors at once in response to the inputs. (The BEAN is used when the master switch sends request signals to the main body ECU RH.)

Operating the driver's door lock using a mechanical key sends request signals to lock/unlock the doors to the main body ECU RH via the master switch. "2-step unlock function" is optional for unlocking procedures of the key-linked lock for the driver side door.

Passenger side door lock and rear LH and RH door locks
Built-in motor locks/unlocks door.
Built-in position switch detects door status (locked or unlocked) and outputs data to main body ECU RH. This switch turns off when door is locked and turns on when door is unlocked.
Double locking system
The double locking system also prevents the doors from being opened through the operation of the inside door knobs. Thus, the doors cannot be opened either from the inside or the outside of the vehicle.
To lock the doors with this system, pressing the transmitter's LOCK switch, then pressing it again within 5 seconds activates the double locking system. However, as an emergency unlocking maneuver, only the driver's door can be unlocked with a key.
  • NOTICE:
  • Never activate the double locking system system when there are people in the vehicle because the doors cannot be opened from the inside of the vehicle. If locking the doors by accident, press "UNLOCK" button of the transmitter.
SYSTEM FUNCTION
  • HINT:
  • The following functions' default settings are ON. Some of these functions can be customized .

DOUBLE LOCKING SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

The double locking system prevents the door from being unlocked from inside the vehicle.

Each side door has a motor for the double locking system in addition to the door lock motor.

Close all doors including the back door and press the LOCK switch on the transmitter twice within 5 seconds. The double locking system is set to ON.

The transmitter switch sends a request signal to the main body ECU RH via the wireless receiver and the main body ECU RH output the double lock ECU. In response to this request, the double lock ECU activates the double locking system motor to disengage the lever, thus preventing the doors from being unlocked when you try to unlock the doors using the door lock knob inside the vehicle.

Press the UNLOCK switch on the transmitter once. The double locking system is set to OFF as well as the doors are unlocked.

  • NOTICE:
  • Make sure that no one is inside the vehicle when you set the double locking system to ON, because the doors cannot be unlocked from the interior while the system is ON.
