If the following operations are performed, "SYSTEM INITIALIZING" is displayed on the multi-display.

When "SYSTEM INITIALIZING" is displayed, correct the steering angle neutral point using either of the following methods.

Turn the steering wheel fully to the right, and left fully.

Drive the vehicle at more than 20 km/h (12 mph) for more than 5 minutes on a straight road and with as little traffic congestion as possible.

• HINT:

• While driving at a constant vehicle speed, the ECU recognizes the point where the steering angle changes the least and memorizes it as the steering angle neutral point.

Stop the vehicle and check whether the neutral point is stored or not. If it is not stored, drive the vehicle some more (the neutral point is stored by driving the vehicle straight).
