Lexus IS250 IS220d GSE20 ALE20 2AD-FHV INTAKE
TURBOCHARGER - REMOVAL
| 1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER |
Remove the No. 1 engine cover.
| 2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL |
Remove the 11 clips and intake duct seal.
| 3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH |
Remove the 2 clips and side cover.
| 4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE |
Remove the air cleaner cap with air cleaner hose.
Disconnect the No. 2 ventilation hose (*1).
Disconnect the hose band (*2).
Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector (*3).
Disconnect the 3 clamps (*4).
| 5. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR TUBE |
Loosen the 2 clips and remove the No. 1 air tube.
| 6. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR HOSE |
Loosen the clip and remove the No. 2 air hose.
| 7. REMOVE AIR HOSE |
| 8. REMOVE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY |

| 9. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY |
| 10. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY |
Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs.
Remove the 2 bolts, 2 compression springs, front exhaust pipe assembly and 2 gaskets.
| 11. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CONVERTER SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Disconnect the 2 exhaust gas temperature sensor connectors.
Remove the 2 bolts and nut from the No. 1 manifold stay.
Remove the 2 bolts, nut and No. 2 manifold stay.
Using pliers, slide the clip to disconnect the No. 1 and No. 2 vacuum transmitting hose.
Remove the 3 nuts.
Remove the manifold converter sub-assembly and turbine outlet elbow gasket.
Remove the No. 1 manifold stay.
| 12. REMOVE TURBOCHARGER STAY |
Remove the 3 bolts, and then remove the turbocharger stay.
| 13. REMOVE NO. 1 TURBO INSULATOR |
Remove the 2 bolts, and then remove the insulator.
| 14. REMOVE NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS HOSE |
Using pliers, slide the clip to disconnect the No. 3 water by-pass hose.
- HINT:
- Place a container under the connection before disconnecting the No. 3 water by-pass hose because water in the hose may spill out.
| 15. REMOVE TURBO OIL OUTLET HOSE |
Using pliers, slide the 2 clips to remove the turbo oil outlet hose.
| 16. REMOVE NO. 2 TURBO OIL PIPE |
Remove the 2 union bolts and gasket (*1).
Remove the bolt (*2) and No. 2 turbo oil pipe.
| 17. REMOVE TURBOCHARGER SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Remove the 3 nuts, No. 1 turbo water hose, turbocharger and gasket.
| 18. REMOVE WATER PIPE |
Remove the bolt (*1).
Remove the 2 union bolts (*2), 2 gaskets, No. 1 turbo water pipe sub-assembly and No. 2 turbo water pipe sub-assembly.
| 19. REMOVE TURBO OIL OUTLET PIPE |
Remove the 2 nuts, gasket and turbo oil outlet pipe.
| 20. REMOVE STUD BOLT |
Remove the 3 stud bolts (exhaust manifold converter side).
Remove the 3 stud bolts (exhaust manifold side).
Remove the 2 stud bolts (turbo oil outlet pipe side).
