FUEL INJECTOR - REMOVAL
| 1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
| 2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER |
Remove the No. 1 engine cover.
| 3. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL PIPE |
Loosen the 2 clips and disconnect the 2 fuel hoses.
Remove the 2 bolts and the No. 1 fuel pipe.
| 4. REMOVE WIRING HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET |
Disconnect the wire harness clamp.
Disconnect the 5 wire harness clamps.
Remove the 2 bolts and wire harness clamp bracket.
| 5. REMOVE NO. 1 INTAKE MANIFOLD INSULATOR |
Remove the No. 1 intake manifold insulator.
| 6. REMOVE NO. 1 INJECTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY |
- NOTICE:
- After removing the fuel pipe, cover the common rail with electrical tape to prevent dirt or foreign objects from entering the pipe inlet. Also protect the injector inlets with electrical tape or plastic bags.
Remove the 2 bolts and 4 injection pipe clamps.
Using the SST, loosen the nut at the common rail end of the injection pipe.

Using the SST, loosen the nut at the injector end of the injection pipe.

Remove the No. 1 injection pipe sub-assembly.
| 7. REMOVE NO. 2 INJECTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY |
- HINT:
- Perform the same procedure as for the No. 1 injection pipe.
| 8. REMOVE NO. 3 INJECTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY |
- HINT:
- Perform the same procedure as for the No. 1 injection pipe.
| 9. REMOVE NO. 4 INJECTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY |
- HINT:
- Perform the same procedure as for the No. 1 injection pipe.
| 10. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE |
Disconnect the 4 injector connectors.
Remove the 2 nuts.
Disconnect the 2 harness clamps, and separate the engine wire harness.
| 11. REMOVE FUEL INLET PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Remove the bolt and 2 injection pipe clamps.
Using the SST, loosen the nut at the common rail end of the fuel inlet pipe.

Using the SST, loosen the nut at the supply pump end of the fuel inlet pipe.

Remove the 2 fuel inlet pipe sub-assemblies.
| 12. REMOVE NO. 1 NOZZLE LEAKAGE PIPE ASSEMBLY |
Remove the fuel check valve, bolt and gasket.
Remove the 4 union bolts, 4 gaskets and No. 1 nozzle leakage pipe.
| 13. REMOVE NOZZLE HOLDER CLAMP |
Using a hexagon socket wrench, remove the 4 bolts.
Remove the 4 bolts, 4 washers, and 4 nozzle holder clamps.
| 14. REMOVE INJECTOR ASSEMBLY |
Remove the 4 injectors and 4 injection nozzle seats from the cylinder head.
Remove the O-rings from each injector.
- NOTICE:
- When removing the injector assemblies, store them in a correct order so that they can be returned to their original locations when being reassembled.
