ECD SYSTEM - CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS

- Intelligent tester:
- Inspect the vehicle's ECM using check mode. It is easier to detect intermittent problems when the ECM is in check mode with the intelligent tester. In check mode, the ECM uses 1 trip detection logic, which has a higher sensitivity to malfunctions than normal mode (default). Normal mode uses 2 trip detection logic.
Change the ECM from normal mode to check mode using the intelligent tester .
Perform a simulation test .
Check the connector and terminal .
Wiggle the harness and the connector .
