INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.INSPECT E-VRV FOR TURBOCHARGER CONTROL

Check the E-VRV for turbocharger control .

REPLACE E-VRV FOR TURBOCHARGER CONTROL
OK
2.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (E-VRV - ECM)

Disconnect the E79 E-VRV connector.

Disconnect the E59 ECM connector.

Check the resistance between the wire harness side connectors.

  • Standard resistance (Check for open):
  • Tester ConnectionSpecified Condition
    VN (E59-84) - (E79-2)Below 1 Ω
  • Standard resistance (Check for short):
  • Tester ConnectionSpecified Condition
    VN (E59-84) or (E79-2) - Body ground10 kΩ or higher

Reconnect the E-VRV connector.

Reconnect the ECM connector.

3.CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (E-VRV POWER SOURCE)

Disconnect the E79 E-VRV connector.

Turn the engine switch ON (IG).

Measure the voltage.

  • Standard voltage:
  • Tester ConnectionSpecified Condition
    E-VRV (1) - Body ground9 to 14 V

Reconnect the E-VRV connector.
