WATER PUMP - REMOVAL
| 1. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL |
Remove the 11 clips and intake duct seal.
| 2. REMOVE NO. 1 INLET AIR CLEANER |
Remove the bolt, clip and inlet air cleaner.
| 3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER |
Remove the No. 1 engine cover.
| 4. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER |
| 5. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT |
- CAUTION:
- Do not remove the radiator cap while the engine and radiator are still hot. Pressurized, hot engine coolant and steam may be released and cause serious burns.
Remove the radiator cap.
Loosen the radiator drain cock plug and cylinder block drain cock plug. Then drain the coolant.
- HINT:
- Collect the coolant in a container and dispose of it according to local regulations.
| 6. REMOVE RADIATOR RESERVE TANK ASSEMBLY |
Loosen the clip and disconnect the reserve tank outlet hose.
Loosen the clip and disconnect the reserve tank hose.
Remove the 2 bolts and radiator reserve tank.
| 7. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT |
Release the belt tension by turning the belt tensioner counterclockwise, and remove the V-ribbed belt from the belt tensioner.
While turning the belt tensioner counterclockwise, align its holes, and then insert a 5 mm (0.20 in.) bar into the holes to hold the belt tensioner.
| 8. REMOVE NO. 2 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Remove the bolt, No. 2 idler pulley cover plate and No. 2 idler pulley sub-assembly.
| 9. REMOVE WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY |
Remove the 7 bolts and water pump assembly.
Remove the gasket.
