DESCRIPTION
The driving support ECU assembly receives accelerator pedal position sensor signals from the ECM to determine if acceleration is being requested by the driver. If the ECM detects a malfunction in the accelerator pedal position sensor, the driving support ECU assembly is notified via CAN communication and stores DTC C1A63.DTC No.

| While the engine switch is on (IG), the driving support ECU assembly receives a throttle sensor malfunction signal from the ECM continuously for approximately 1.3 seconds or more.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
- NOTICE:
- When replacing the driving support ECU assembly, always replace it with a new one. If a driving support ECU assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in it will not match the information from the vehicle and a DTC may be stored.
- First check the CAN communication system by following How to Proceed with Troubleshooting. After checking that there are no malfunctions in the CAN communication system, proceed with troubleshooting.

1.CHECK DTC OUTPUT (ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM) |
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Engine and ECT / SFI system / Trouble Codes.
Check for DTCs.

2.CHECK DTC OUTPUT (PRE-CRASH SAFETY SYSTEM) |
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Pre-Crash 2 / Trouble Codes.
Clear the DTCs (Click here).
Make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.

- If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect the malfunction.
Check for DTCs (Click here).
