POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM - Collision Door Lock Release Function does not Operate


DESCRIPTION

When an impact is detected, a relay inside the main body ECU is operated to switch the power source of the door lock with motor assemblies from the vehicle battery to the door control battery.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following procedure.
1.CHECK DOOR LOCK OPERATION
  1. Check door lock operation (Click here).

    OK:
    All doors lock and unlock normally.

GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (Click here)

2.CHECK DOOR CONTROL BATTERY

  1. Disconnect the door control battery connector.

  1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Voltage:
    Tester Connection
    Switch Condition
    Specified Condition
    E168-8 (IG) - Body ground
    Ignition switch ON
    11 to 14 V

3.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - DOOR CONTROL BATTERY)
  1. Disconnect the 2J main body ECU connector.

  1. Disconnect the E168 door control battery connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    Condition
    Specified Condition
    E117-3 (ACTG) - E168-9 (ACTG)
    Always
    Below 1 Ω
    E117-3 (ACTG) or E168-9 (ACTG) - Body ground
    Always
    10 kΩ or higher

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK


4.REPLACE DOOR CONTROL BATTERY
  1. Replace the door control battery with new or known good one (Click here).

    OK:
    Collision detection door lock function operates normally.

  1. Disconnect the 2J main body ECU connector.

  1. Disconnect the E168 door control battery connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.

    Standard Resistance:

    2J-12 - E168-8 (IG)
    Always
    Below 1 Ω
