DESCRIPTION

The ECM operates the air pump heater relay (AIR PMP HTR) which causes the air pump heater to operate.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Inspect the fuses of circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.
HINT:
Read freeze frame data using the GTS. Freeze frame data records the engine condition when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, if the air-fuel ratio was lean or rich, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.

  1. Inspect the No. 2 integration relay (AIR PMP HTR) (Click here).

  1. Remove the No. 2 integration relay (AIR PMP HTR).

  1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Voltage:
    for RHD
    Tester Connection

  1. Reinstall the No. 2 integration relay (AIR PMP HTR).

3.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - NO. 2 INTEGRATION RELAY (AIR PMP HTR))
  1. Remove the No. 2 integration relay (AIR PMP HTR).

  1. Disconnect the ECM connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:

    for RHD
    Tester Connection

    1P-10 - C46-60 (HAI1)
    Always
    Below 1 Ω
    1P-10 or C46-60 (HAI1) - Body ground

    10 kΩ or higher
