  1. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER

  2. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER

  3. REMOVE TRANSPONDER KEY COIL

Transponder Key Amplifier -- Removal


HINT:
  1. Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.
  2. The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.


1. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER

  1. Remove the 3 screws.

  1. While pressing the push area shown in the illustration to detach the 2 claws, slightly lower steering column cover.



2. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER

  1. Detach the 4 clips and 2 claws remove the meter hood spacer.

  1. Detach the claw and 2 guide pin remove the upper steering column cover from the steering column assembly.



3. REMOVE TRANSPONDER KEY COIL


    Land Cruiser. Urj200, 202 Grj200 Vdj200
  1. Using a screwdriver, widen the claw attached to the upper bracket by approximately 1.0 mm (0.039 in.).

  1. Pull out the transponder key coil with the claw open.

  1. Disconnect the connector and remove the transponder key coil.
