DTC C1A46 Yaw Rate Sensor


DESCRIPTION

The driving support ECU assembly receives yaw rate sensor signals from the airbag sensor assembly (yaw rate and acceleration sensor) and master cylinder solenoid (skid control ECU) via CAN communication. If the driving support ECU assembly receives yaw rate sensor malfunction signals from the airbag sensor assembly (yaw rate and acceleration sensor) or master cylinder solenoid (skid control ECU), DTC C1A46 is stored.

While the vehicle speed is 5 km/h (3 mph) or more, the driving support ECU assembly receives yaw rate sensor malfunction signals from airbag sensor assembly (yaw rate and acceleration sensor) or master cylinder solenoid (skid control ECU) for approximately 10 seconds.
  1. Vehicle stability control system
  2. Master cylinder solenoid (skid control ECU)
  3. Driving support ECU assembly

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
  1. When replacing the driving support ECU assembly, always replace it with a new one. If a driving support ECU assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in it will not match the information from the vehicle and a DTC may be stored.
  2. First check the CAN communication system by following How to Proceed with Troubleshooting. After checking that there are no malfunctions in the CAN communication system, proceed with troubleshooting.

  3. After replacing the master cylinder solenoid, perform zero point calibration and store the system information (Click here).

  1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

  1. Turn the GTS on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRAC / Trouble Codes.

  1. Check for vehicle stability control system DTCs (Click here).

    HINT:
    If the airbag sensor assembly (yaw rate and acceleration sensor) is malfunctioning, DTCs for the vehicle stability control system will be stored. Troubleshoot the vehicle stability control system first.

  1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

  1. Turn the GTS on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Pre-Crash 2 / Trouble Codes.

  1. Clear the DTCs (Click here).

  1. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 5 km/h (3 mph) or more.

    HINT:
    If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect the malfunction.
  1. Check for DTCs (Click here).
