Instrument Panel Safety Pad -- Disassembly |
- HINT:
- Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.
- The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.
| 1. REMOVE CENTER HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT |
 |
Remove the 3 screws <C> and center heater to register duct.

| 2. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 AIR DUCT (w/ Rear Air Duct) |
 |
Remove the 2 screws and rear No. 1 air duct.
| 3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER WITHOUT DOOR AIRBAG ASSEMBLY |
Detach the claw and remove the wire.
 |
Disconnect the 2 connectors and remove the instrument panel wire from the front passenger airbag.
- NOTICE:
- When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
Remove the 2 screws.
 |
Detach the 5 hooks (A).
 |
Detach the 5 hooks (B) and remove the front passenger airbag from the instrument panel.
| 4. REMOVE DEFROSTER NOZZLE ASSEMBLY |

Detach the 11 claws and remove the defroster nozzle assembly.
| 5. REMOVE NO. 1 SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE |
 |
Detach the 2 claws and remove the No. 1 side defroster nozzle.
| 6. REMOVE NO. 2 SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE |
 |
Detach the 2 claws and remove the No. 2 side defroster nozzle.
| 7. REMOVE NAVIGATION ANTENNA ASSEMBLY (w/ Navigation System) |
for LHD:
Detach the 2 clamps.
Remove the 2 screws and navigation antenna assembly.
for RHD:
Detach the 2 clamps.
Remove the 2 screws and navigation antenna assembly.
| 8. REMOVE ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY |

| 9. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE |
Detach the clamps and remove the No. 2 instrument panel wire.
| 10. REMOVE GLOVE BOX LIGHT ASSEMBLY |

Twist the glove box light assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow and remove it.
| 11. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR SUB-ASSEMBLY |
 |
Remove the 2 screws.
tach the 2 claws and remove the glove compartment door sub-assembly.
| 12. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT PLATE |
 |
Detach the 2 claws and remove the glove compartment plate.
| 13. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT COVER LH |
 |
Detach the 2 claws and 3 guides and remove the lower instrument cover LH.
| 14. REMOVE CONSOLE COMPARTMENT DOOR CUSHION |

- Use the same procedure for both console compartment door cushions.
Remove the console compartment door cushion.

| 15. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY |

Remove the 2 screws and glove compartment door lock assembly.
| 16. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK COVER |
 |
Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws and remove the glove compartment door lock cover.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

Remove the glove compartment door lock pin.

Detach the 8 claws and remove the meter hood spacer.
| 19. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL HOLE COVER |

Remove the 2 screws and instrument panel hole cover.
