Heated Oxygen Sensor Removal

  1. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  2. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 2)

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 2)

Heated Oxygen Sensor -- Removal


CAUTION:
  1. The procedures should be performed by at least 2 people.
  2. Wear protective gloves when removing the exhaust pipe.
  3. The exhaust pipe is extremely hot immediately after the engine has stopped.
  4. Confirm that the exhaust pipe has cooled down before removing it.


1. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER


    Land Cruiser. Urj200, 202 Grj200 Vdj200
  1. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 2 engine under cover.



2. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
  1. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector.

  1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the wire harness clamp bracket of the oxygen sensor from the transmission.

  1. Remove the 2 nuts, front No. 2 exhaust pipe and gasket from the exhaust manifold LH.



3. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
  1. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector.

  1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the wire harness clamp bracket of the oxygen sensor from the transmission.

  1. Remove the 2 nuts, front exhaust pipe and gasket from the exhaust manifold RH.



4. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 2)

  1. Using SST, remove the sensor.

5. REMOVE NO. 2 HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 2)
  1. Using SST, remove the sensor.
