INSPECT INDICATOR/WARNING LIGHT
  1. Check the following indicators and warning lights.

INSPECT SPEEDOMETER
  1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

  3. Turn the GTS on.

  4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List.

    NOTICE:
    Do not use worn, underinflated or overinflated tires, as the speedometer reading will be inaccurate.
  5. Check the deflection width of the speedometer indicator.

INSPECT TACHOMETER
  1. Connect a tune-up tachometer, and start the engine.

  2. Compare the test results with the tachometer indicator.

    DC 13.5 V, at 25°C (77°F):

    If the result is not as specified, the tachometer may have a malfunction.


INSPECT METER/GAUGE
  1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

  2. Perform Active Test (Click here).

    OK:
    Each meter/gauge needle indication is normal.

INSPECT WARNING/INDICATOR LIGHT
  1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

  2. Perform Active Test (Click here).

    OK:
    Each warning/indicator light turns on and off using the GTS.

INSPECT ENGINE OIL LEVEL WARNING (except 3UR-FE)
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON and warm up the engine at an engine speed of 2000 rpm or less until the coolant temperature reaches approximately 80°C (176°F) or more.

  2. Disconnect the engine oil level sensor connector for 40 seconds or more.

  3. Turn the ignition switch to ON and check the multi-information display.

    OK:
    Low engine oil level message is displayed.

INSPECT MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY (w/ Multi-information Display)
  1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

  2. Perform Active Test (Click here).

    HINT:
    If this Active Test is being performed and the ignition switch is turned off and then ON, the A/T and ODO/TRIP display background may turn white. If this occurs, end Active Test and turn the ignition switch off.
    OK:
    All dots in the multi-information display turn on and off using the GTS.
