DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH CUSHION
REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Floor Under Cover)
REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
Knee Airbag Assembly (For Front Passenger Side) -- Removal |
- HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RHD and LHD.
- The procedures listed below are the LHD side.
| 1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
- NOTICE:
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Click here).
| 2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH |
- HINT:
- Use the same procedures described for the LH side.
| 3. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH CUSHION |
Put protective tape around the No. 1 instrument panel finish panel cushion.

Using a moulding remover, detach the 7 claws and remove the No. 1 instrument panel finish panel cushion.
| 4. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH |
Remove the clip and screw.
Detach the 7 claws and remove the lower instrument panel pad sub-assembly.
| 5. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Floor Under Cover) |
Detach the 4 claws and remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover.
| 6. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY |
Remove the 4 bolts.
Detach the 4 claws and remove the front passenger side knee airbag.
Disconnect the connector.
- NOTICE:
- When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
