INSTALL FRONT OIL PUMP OIL SEAL
FIX FRONT OIL PUMP BODY SUB-ASSEMBLY
INSTALL FRONT OIL PUMP DRIVEN GEAR
INSTALL FRONT OIL PUMP DRIVE GEAR
INSTALL FRONT OIL PUMP BODY O-RING
INSTALL STATOR SHAFT ASSEMBLY
INSTALL CLUTCH DRUM THRUST WASHER
INSTALL NO. 1 BRAKE PISTON
INSPECT OIL PUMP DRIVE GEAR ROTATION
INSTALL CLUTCH DRUM OIL SEAL RING
INSTALL NO. 1 CHECK VALVE SUB-ASSEMBLY
INSTALL TRANSMISSION REVOLUTION SENSOR (NT)
INSTALL OIL PUMP O-RING
1. INSTALL FRONT OIL PUMP OIL SEAL |
Using SST and a hammer, tap in a new front oil pump oil seal.
- SST
- 09350-30020(09351-32140)
- Standard depth:
- -0.2 to 0.2 mm (-0.00787 to 0.00787 in.)
- HINT:
- The front oil pump oil seal end should be flush with the outer edge of the front oil pump body sub-assembly.
Coat the lip of the front oil pump oil seal with MP grease.
2. FIX FRONT OIL PUMP BODY SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Place the front oil pump body sub-assembly on the torque converter assembly.
3. INSTALL FRONT OIL PUMP DRIVEN GEAR |
Coat the front oil pump driven gear with ATF.
Install the front oil pump driven gear to the front oil pump body sub-assembly.
4. INSTALL FRONT OIL PUMP DRIVE GEAR |
Coat the front oil pump drive gear with ATF.
Install the front oil pump drive gear to the front oil pump body sub-assembly.
5. INSTALL FRONT OIL PUMP BODY O-RING |
Coat a new front oil pump body O-ring with ATF.
Install the front oil pump body O-ring to the front oil pump body sub-assembly.
6. INSTALL STATOR SHAFT ASSEMBLY |
Align the stator shaft assembly with each bolt hole and install it.
Using a T30 ''TORX'' socket wrench, install the 8 bolts.
- Torque:
- 12 N*m{122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf}
7. INSTALL CLUTCH DRUM THRUST WASHER |
Align the 2 claws and install the clutch drum thrust washer.
8. INSTALL NO. 1 BRAKE PISTON |
Coat 2 new O-rings with ATF and install them to the No. 1 brake piston.

Install the No. 1 brake piston and No. 1 brake piston return spring sub-assembly.

Using a T30 ''TORX'' socket wrench, install the 5 bolts.
- Torque:
- 12 N*m{122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf}
9. INSPECT OIL PUMP DRIVE GEAR ROTATION |
Place the oil pump assembly on the torque converter assembly.
Make sure that the drive gear rotates smoothly.
10. INSTALL CLUTCH DRUM OIL SEAL RING |
Coat 4 new clutch drum oil seal rings with ATF.
Squeeze the ends of the 4 clutch drum oil seal rings so that the gap becomes 8 mm (0.32 in.) or less, and then install them to the stator shaft groove.
- NOTICE:
- Do not expand the ring ends excessively.
- HINT:
- After installing the clutch drum oil seal rings, check that they rotate smoothly.
11. INSTALL NO. 1 CHECK VALVE SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Install the No. 1 check valve sub-assembly and compression spring to the oil pump assembly.
Install the check ball cover with the bolt.
- Torque:
- 6.8 N*m{69 kgf*cm, 60 in.*lbf}
12. INSTALL TRANSMISSION REVOLUTION SENSOR (NT) |
Apply a light coat of ATF to the O-ring of the transmission revolution sensor (NT).
Attach the clamp to install the transmission revolution sensor (NT) to the clamp.
Using a T30 ''TORX'' socket wrench, install the transmission revolution sensor (NT) and clamp with the bolt.
- Torque:
- 6.8 N*m{69 kgf*cm, 60 in.*lbf}
- NOTICE:
- When reusing the transmission revolution sensor (NT), inspect the O-ring.
- Make sure that the O-ring is not cracked or jammed when installing the transmission revolution sensor (NT).
13. INSTALL OIL PUMP O-RING |
Install a new oil pump O-ring with ATF and install it to the oil pump assembly.
