DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when there is a LIN communication problem between the main body ECU and certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) or when there is a problem in the engine immobiliser system.

  1. Communication or the communication line is abnormal among the main body ECU, certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly), steering lock ECU and ID code box (immobiliser code ECU).

2.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY))

  1. Disconnect the 2D main body ECU connector.

  1. Disconnect the E29 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    		Condition
    		Specified Condition
    2D-20 (LIN1) - E29-10 (LIN)
    		Always
    		Below 1 Ω
    2D-20 (LIN) or E29-10 (LIN) - Body ground
    		Always
    		10 kΩ or higher

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

3.REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU

  1. Temporarily replace the main body ECU with a new or normally functioning one.

  1. Check whether DTC B2289 is output.

    OK:
    No DTC is output.
