  1. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE ANCHOR BLOCK

  2. CONNECT NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

  3. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER LH

  4. INSTALL NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH

  5. INSTALL NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH

  6. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE RETURN SPRING

  7. CHECK PARKING BRAKE INSTALLATION

  8. INSTALL REAR DISC

  9. CONNECT REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH

  10. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE

  11. INSTALL REAR WHEEL LH

Parking Brake Assembly -- Reassembly


HINT:
  1. Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
  2. The procedures listed below are for the LH side.


1. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE ANCHOR BLOCK


    Land Cruiser. Urj200, 202 Grj200 Vdj200

  1. Install the anchor block with the 2 nuts.

    Torque:
    86 N*m{877 kgf*cm, 63 ft.*lbf}


2. CONNECT NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY


    Land Cruiser. Urj200, 202 Grj200 Vdj200

  1. Connect the No. 3 parking brake cable with the bolt.

    Torque:
    8.0 N*m{82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf}


3. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER LH

  1. Apply high temperature grease to the parking brake anchor block.

  1. Install the parking brake shoe lever to the No. 3 parking brake cable.

    NOTICE:
    Be carefully to distinguish between the parking brake shoe lever RH and LH.


4. INSTALL NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Apply high temperature grease to the areas of the backing plate that contact the shoe.

  1. Using SST, install the No. 2 parking brake shoe with the shoe hold down spring pin, compression spring and shoe hold down spring cup.

5. INSTALL NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Apply high temperature grease to the areas of the backing plate that contact the shoe.

  1. Apply high temperature grease to the thread and all joining areas of the parking brake shoe adjuster screw set.

  1. Set the No. 1 parking brake shoe and shoe adjuster screw set in place.

  1. Connect the tension spring.

  1. Using SST, install the shoe hold down spring pin, compression spring and shoe hold down spring cup.

6. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE RETURN SPRING

  1. Using SST, install the shoe return spring.

7. CHECK PARKING BRAKE INSTALLATION


  1. Check that each part is installed properly.

8. INSTALL REAR DISC

  1. While aligning the matchmarks, install the rear disc.



9. CONNECT REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH


    Land Cruiser. Urj200, 202 Grj200 Vdj200

  1. Connect the rear disc brake cylinder with 2 new bolts.

    Torque:
    154 N*m{1570 kgf*cm, 114 ft.*lbf}
    NOTICE:
    1. Do not twist the brake hose.
    2. Make sure that the bolts are free from damage and foreign matter.
    3. Do not overtighten the bolts.


10. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE

11. INSTALL REAR WHEEL LH
Torque:
for Aluminum Wheel:
131 N*m{1336 kgf*cm, 97 ft.*lbf}
for Steel Wheel:
209 N*m{2131 kgf*cm, 154 ft.*lbf}
