  1. DESCRIPTION

  1. CLEAR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION (SST CHECK WIRE)

Anti-Lock Brake System -- Calibration



DESCRIPTION
After replacing the relevant ABS components, clear the sensor calibration data and then perform calibration.

Replacement/Adjustment Part

Skid control ECU (Master cylinder solenoid)
Deceleration sensor zero point calibration
Deceleration sensor
  1. Clearing zero point calibration data
  2. Deceleration sensor zero point calibration

CLEAR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION (SST CHECK WIRE)
After replacing the deceleration sensor, make sure to clear the zero point calibration data in the skid control ECU (master cylinder solenoid) and perform zero point calibration.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

  2. Using SST, connect and disconnect terminals 12 (TS) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3 4 times or more within 8 seconds.

  3. Check that the ABS warning light comes on.

  4. Using a check wire, perform zero point calibration of the deceleration sensor.


PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION OF DECELERATION SENSOR (SST CHECK WIRE)
After replacing the master cylinder solenoid and/or deceleration sensor, make sure to perform deceleration sensor zero point calibration.
NOTICE:
  1. While obtaining the zero point, do not vibrate the vehicle by tilting, moving or shaking it. Keep it stationary and do not start the engine.
  2. Choose a level surface with an inclination of less than 1°.


  1. Procedures for Test Mode:

    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. for A/T:
      Move the shift lever to P.

      NOTICE:
      DTC 98 will be stored if the shift lever is not in P.

    3. for M/T:
      Pull the parking brake lever.

      NOTICE:
      DTC 98 will be stored if the parking brake lever is not pulled.

    4. Using SST, connect terminals 12 (TS) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.

    5. Check that the steering wheel is centered.

    6. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    7. Keep the vehicle stationary on a level surface for 2 seconds or more.

    8. Check that the ABS warning light is blinking in test mode pattern (0.125 seconds on and 0.125 seconds off).

      NOTICE:
      The ABS warning light stays on when obtaining the zero point.
      HINT:
      1. If the ABS warning light does not blink, perform the zero point calibration again.
      2. The zero point calibration is performed only once after the system enters test mode.
      3. Calibration cannot be performed again until the stored data is cleared once.

CLEAR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION (GTS)
After replacing the deceleration sensor, make sure to clear the zero point calibration data in the skid control ECU (master cylinder solenoid) and perform zero point calibration.

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

  3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

  4. Turn the GTS on.

  5. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRC / Utility / Reset Memory.

  6. Using the GTS, perform zero point calibration of the deceleration sensor.

After replacing the master cylinder solenoid and/or deceleration sensor, make sure to perform deceleration sensor zero point calibration.
