DTC P062F Internal Control Module EEPROM Error |
DESCRIPTION
P062FDTC Detection Drive Pattern
| DTC Detection Condition
| Trouble Area
|
Ignition switch ON for 1 second
| When any condition below is met (1 trip detection logic):
- Injector compensation code is not registered.
- Wrong injector compensation code is registered.
- Pilot quantity learning value is not registered.
- Catalyst deterioration learning value is not registered.
- Crank Time Compensation Learning value is not registered.*
- A/F Sensor Compensation Learning value is not registered.*
| - Injector compensation code
- Pilot quantity learning value
- Catalyst thermal deterioration value
- A/F sensor compensation learning value
- Crank time compensation learning value
- ECM
|
*: When this malfunction occurs, the MIL does not illuminate.- NOTICE:
- When an injector assembly is replaced, the new injector compensation code must be input into the ECM. When the ECM is replaced, all of the existing injector compensation codes must be input into the new ECM.
- Injector compensation codes are unique, 30-digit, alphanumeric values printed on the head portion of each injector assembly. If an incorrect injector compensation code is input into the ECM, the engine assembly may rattle or engine idling may become rough. In addition, engine failure may occur and the life of the engine may be shortened.
- When an injector assembly is replaced, perform pilot quantity learning. When the ECM is replaced, all of the existing pilot quantity learning values must be input into the new ECM.
- When the exhaust pipe assembly (DPF catalytic converter) is replaced, the new catalyst thermal deterioration value must be input into the ECM. When the ECM is replaced, the existing catalyst thermal deterioration value must be input into the new ECM.
- HINT:
- When replacing the ECM with a new one, if the injector compensation code, pilot quantity learning value and/or catalyst thermal deterioration value are not entered, DTC P062F will be stored.
When replacing the ECM with a new one, input all learning values and codes into the new ECM as follows: |
Prior to replacing the ECM, use the GTS to read and save each learning value and code from the original ECM (Click here).
After installing a new ECM, input the saved learning values and codes into the new ECM using the GTS (Click here).
Turn the ignition switch off and turn the GTS off.
Wait for at least 30 seconds.
Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the GTS on.
Clear DTC P062F stored in the ECM using the GTS (Click here).
- HINT:
- Each injector assembly has different fuel injection characteristics. In order to optimize the fuel injections, the ECM uses the injector compensation codes to balance the different fuel injections between each injector assembly.
- When you first Turn the ignition switch to ON after replacing the ECM and other component(s), DTC P062F is stored. Manually clear the DTC upon completion of injector compensation code registration.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
- NOTICE:
- After replacing the ECM, the new ECM needs registration (Click here) and initialization (Click here).
- After replacing the fuel supply pump assembly, the ECM needs initialization (Click here).
- After replacing an injector assembly, the ECM needs registration (Click here).
- HINT:
- Read freeze frame data using the GTS. Freeze frame data records the engine condition when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.
1.LEARNING VALUES CONFIRMATION |
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the GTS on.
- NOTICE:
- Do not start the engine.
Enter the following menus: Engine and ECT / Utility / Learning values confirmation (Click here).

- When the pilot quantity learning values are set to the default values, "7FFF" is displayed.
2.REGISTER INJECTOR COMPENSATION CODE |
Register the injector compensation code (Click here).
- HINT:
- When replacing the ECM, after performing "Learning Values Save" to save the learned values from the old ECM using the GTS and replacing the old ECM with a new one, "Learning Values Write" was not performed using the GTS causing this DTC to be output.
Install the old ECM.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Engine and ECT / Utility / Learning values save (Click here).
Remove the old ECM.
Install a new ECM.
Enter the following menus: Engine and ECT / Utility / Learning values write (Click here).
4.LEARNING VALUES CONFIRMATION |
