PRECAUTION
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
REMOVE CENTER BACK DOOR GARNISH
REMOVE BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH LH
REMOVE BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH RH
REMOVE ASSIST GRIP (for Face to Face Seat Type)
REMOVE NO. 2 BACK DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER (for Face to Face Seat Type)
REMOVE POWER BACK DOOR MAIN SWITCH (for Face to Face Seat Type)
REMOVE BACK DOOR GARNISH
REMOVE BACK DOOR GLASS CHANNEL LH (w/ Rear Spoiler)
REMOVE BACK DOOR GLASS CHANNEL RH (w/ Rear Spoiler)
REMOVE REAR SPOILER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear Spoiler)
REMOVE REAR WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear Wiper)

CLEAN VEHICLE BODY
Back Window Glass -- Removal |
- NOTICE:
- After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Click here).
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
- NOTICE:
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Click here).
3. REMOVE CENTER BACK DOOR GARNISH |
Detach the 5 clips and 4 claws, and remove the center back door garnish.
Disconnect the connector.
4. REMOVE BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH LH |
Detach the 3 clips and 2 claws, and remove the back door side garnish LH.
5. REMOVE BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH RH |
w/o Power Back Door:
- HINT:
- Use the same procedure described for the LH side.
w/ Power Back Door:
Detach the clip and 4 claws, and remove the back door side garnish RH.
6. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP (for Face to Face Seat Type) |
Remove the 2 screws and assist grip.
7. REMOVE NO. 2 BACK DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER (for Face to Face Seat Type) |
Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the No. 2 back door service hole cover.
Disconnect connector.
8. REMOVE POWER BACK DOOR MAIN SWITCH (for Face to Face Seat Type) |
Detach the 2 claws and remove the power back door main switch.
9. REMOVE BACK DOOR GARNISH |
Using a clip remover, detach the 14 clips and remove the back door garnish.
10. REMOVE BACK DOOR GLASS CHANNEL LH (w/ Rear Spoiler) |
Using a clip remover, remove the clip.
Remove the back door glass channel LH.
11. REMOVE BACK DOOR GLASS CHANNEL RH (w/ Rear Spoiler) |
Using a clip remover, remove the clip.
Remove the back door glass channel RH.
12. REMOVE REAR SPOILER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear Spoiler) |
w/ Power Back Door:
Remove the 2 hole plugs and 4 bolts.
w/o Power Back Door:
Remove the 4 bolts.
Detach the 3 clips and remove the rear spoiler sub-assembly.
13. REMOVE REAR WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear Wiper) |
Detach the 2 claws and slide the rear wiper arm head cap.
Raise the rear wiper arm head cap.
Remove the nut and rear wiper arm and blade assembly.
14. REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR GROMMET (w/ Rear Wiper) |
Remove the rear wiper motor grommet.
15. REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear Wiper) |
Disconnect the connector.
Remove the 3 bolts and rear wiper motor assembly.
16. REMOVE BACK WINDOW MOULDING OUTSIDE LH |

| Cut

Using a knife, cut off the moulding as shown in the illustration.
- NOTICE:
- Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
Pull the shaded area shown in the illustration by the hand to remove the back window moulding outside.
- HINT:
- Make a partial cut in the moulding. Then pull and remove it by hand.
17. REMOVE BACK WINDOW MOULDING OUTSIDE |

Using a knife, cut off the moulding as shown in the illustration.
- NOTICE:
- Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
Pull the shaded area shown in the illustration by the hand to remove the back window moulding outside.
- HINT:
- Make a partial cut in the moulding. Then pull and remove it by hand.
18. REMOVE BACK WINDOW GLASS |

| Protective Tape
|
Apply protective tape to the outer surface of the vehicle body to prevent scratches.
- NOTICE:
- When separating the back window glass from the vehicle, be careful not to damage the vehicle paint or interior/exterior ornaments.
Disconnect the connectors.

From the interior, insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and back window glass as shown in the illustration.
- NOTICE:
- Make sure not to damage the wire harness.
Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.

| Matchmarks
|
Place matchmarks over the glass and vehicle body on the locations indicated in the illustration.
- HINT:
- Matchmarks do not need to be placed if the glass is not going to be reused.
Cut through the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the back window glass.
- NOTICE:
- Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible when removing the back window glass.

Using suction cups, remove the back window glass.

| Adhesive
|
Using a scraper, remove the moulding and adhesive from the back window glass.
Clean and shape the contact surface of the vehicle body.
On the contact surface of the vehicle body, use a knife to cut away excess adhesive as shown in the illustration.
- HINT:
- Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible.
- NOTICE:
- Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
Clean the contact surface of the vehicle body with cleaner.
- HINT:
- Even if all the adhesive has been removed, clean the vehicle body.
