CHECK OTHER DTC OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P0106)

REPLACE MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR

CONFIRM WHETHER MALFUNCTION HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY REPAIRED

Trouble Area
After warming up engine, idle engine for 10 seconds or more, then drive vehicle under load (accelerator opening angle 10% or more) with engine speed at 2500 rpm or less for 10 seconds
When either of the following conditions is met (2 trip detection logic):
(a) The manifold absolute pressure output is 3.3 V or more for 10 seconds when idling the engine after warming it up.
(b) The manifold absolute pressure sensor output is 1.5 V or less for 10 seconds when the throttle position sensor output is 1 V or more.

HINT:
  1. If DTC P0106 is stored, the following symptoms may appear:
    1. Misfire
    2. Combustion noise
    3. Black smoke
    4. White smoke
    5. Lack of power

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

HINT:
  1. If DTCs P0105, P0107 and P0108 are output simultaneously, the manifold absolute pressure sensor circuit may have an open or short. Perform troubleshooting for these DTCs first.
  2. Read freeze frame data using the intelligent tester. Freeze frame data records the engine condition when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.
1.CHECK OTHER DTC OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P0106)
  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the tester on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / DTC.

  1. Read the DTCs.

2.REPLACE MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR
  1. Replace the manifold absolute pressure sensor (Click here).

3.CONFIRM WHETHER MALFUNCTION HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY REPAIRED
  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Clear the DTCs (Click here).

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Start the engine.

  1. After warming up the engine, idle the engine for 10 seconds or more, then drive the vehicle under load (accelerator opening angle 10% or more) with the engine speed at 2500 rpm or less for 10 seconds.

  1. Confirm that the DTC is not output again.

    HINT:
    Perform the following procedure using the tester to determine whether or not the DTC judgment has been carried out.
    1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Utility / All Readiness.

    2. Input DTC P0106.

    3. Check that STATUS is NORMAL. If STATUS is INCOMPLETE or UNKNOWN, drive the vehicle for 5 minutes and then idle the engine for 5 minutes.
