INSPECTION PROCEDURE

CHECK FOR DTCs (BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM)

REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU (MASTER CYLINDER SOLENOID)

DTC P1578 Brake System


DESCRIPTION

This DTC is output when the brake control system has a problem. Check the brake control system when this DTC is output.

The ECM receives a brake system error signal for 0.2 sec. or more while the cruise control is operating.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

HINT:
This circuit uses CAN communication. Therefore, if there are any malfunctions in the communication circuit, one or more DTCs in the CAN communication system are output.
1.CHECK FOR DTCs (BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM)

  1. Check for DTCs.

2.CHECK DTC OUTPUT (DTC P1578)

  1. Clear for DTCs (Click here).

  1. Perform the following to make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.

    HINT:
    If the detection conditions are not met, the malfunction cannot be detected.

    1. Drive the vehicle at a speed for which cruise control operation is possible.

    2. Turn the cruise control system on using the cruise control main switch (ON/OFF).

    3. Push the cruise control main switch to -/SET to begin control of vehicle speed by the cruise control system.

  1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Cruise Control / Trouble Codes.

  1. Check for DTCs (Click here).

3.REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU (MASTER CYLINDER SOLENOID)
Replace the skid control ECU (master cylinder solenoid).
