  1. PERFORM HYDRAULIC TEST

Automatic Transmission System -- Hydraulic Test

PERFORM HYDRAULIC TEST

  1. Measure the line pressure.

    CAUTION:
The line pressure test should always be carried out with at least 2 people. One person should observe the condition of wheels and wheel chocks while the other is performing the test.
    NOTICE:
    1. Perform this test with the ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) at the normal operating temperature: 50 to 80°C (122 to 176°F)
    2. Be careful to prevent the SST hose from contacting with the exhaust pipe.
    3. This check must be conducted after checking and confirming that the engine is normal.
    4. Perform this test with the air conditioning and headlights off.
    5. Do not perform the stall test for longer than 5 seconds.
    6. When performing the stall speed test more than once, make sure to wait 15 seconds or more between tests.

    1. Warm up the ATF.

    2. Turn the engine switch off.

    5. Fully apply the parking brake and chock the 4 wheels.

    6. Start the engine and check the idle speed.

    7. Keep your left foot firmly on the brake pedal and move the shift lever to D.

    8. Depress the accelerator pedal as much as possible with your right foot. Quickly read the highest line pressure reading when the engine speed reaches stall speed.

      (18.1 to 20.5 kgf/cm2, 257 to 292 psi)
    9. Turn the engine switch off.

    10. Remove SST and install test plug A.
