  1. Apply battery voltage and check the operation of the mirror.

    1. Check the side turn light assembly.

    2. Apply battery voltage to the terminals of the connector, and check the illumination condition.

      OK:

      Negative (-) end of the battery → Terminal 5 (GND)
      Side turn light illuminates

    1. Check the side turn light assembly.

    2. Apply battery voltage to the terminals of the connector, and check the illumination condition.

  1. w/ Mirror Heater:

    1. Check the mirror heater.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance:

      3.0 to 3.9 Ω
      If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror assembly LH.
    3. Apply battery voltage and check the operation of the mirror heater.

      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 6 (+)
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 17 (-)
      Mirror becomes warm
      HINT:
      It will take a short time for the mirror to become warm.
      If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror assembly LH.

    1. Check the EC mirror operation.

    2. Connect 1.5 V dry-cell battery.

    3. Apply dry battery voltage and check operation of the mirror face, as shown in the table and illustration.

      OK:

      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 16 (EC-)
      Mirror surface becomes dark
      If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror assembly LH.
