Code Sensor Causes of malfunction Fault location
p0500 car speed sensor For vehicles with manual transmission: There is no signal from the vehicle speed sensor to the ECU under the following conditions
  1. coolant temperature is greater than or equal to 70 o C
  2. engine speed is more than 2000 rpm but less than 5000 rpm
For cars with automatic transmission. There is no speed sensor signal to the ECU under the following conditions:
  1. neutral gear is switched off
  2. the car started moving
Under one of the following conditions:
  • engine speed is more than 1900 rpm
  • the throttle valve is open at an angle of 13 o or less
  1. instrument cluster
  2. open or short circuit in the vehicle speed sensor circuit
  3. car speed sensor
  4. ECU
