  1. CONNECT TECHSTREAM

  2. INSPECT ACTUATOR MOTOR OPERATION

  3. INSPECT RIGHT FRONT WHEEL OPERATION

  4. INSPECT OTHER WHEEL OPERATION

Brake Actuator (For Hatchback) -- On-Vehicle Inspection



1. CONNECT TECHSTREAM
  1. Warm up the engine.

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

  1. Turn the Techstream on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/ TRAC / Active Test.

    HINT:
    Refer to the Techstream Operator's Manual for further details.


2. INSPECT ACTUATOR MOTOR OPERATION
NOTICE:
Do not keep the motor relay on continuously for more than 5 seconds. If it needs to be operated repeatedly, set an interval of more than 20 seconds between operations.
  1. Enter the following menus: Active Test / Motor Relay.

  1. Turn the motor relay on and check for the actuator motor operation sound.

  1. Turn the motor relay off.

  1. Fully depress the brake pedal and hold it for approximately 15 seconds. Check that the pedal's initial depth is maintained for the entire 15 seconds.

  1. Turn the motor relay on and check that the pedal does not pulsate.

  1. Turn the motor relay off and release the brake pedal.



3. INSPECT RIGHT FRONT WHEEL OPERATION
NOTICE:
Do not turn on a solenoid in a manner different from that shown in the following steps.
  1. Enter the following menus: Active Test / ABS Solenoid (SFRH) and ABS Solenoid (SFRR).

  1. Depress the brake pedal and hold it.

  1. Turn the SFRH and SFRR solenoids on simultaneously and check that the pedal cannot be depressed.

    NOTICE:
    Each solenoid operates for 2 seconds and turns off automatically. If it needs to be operated repeatedly, set an interval of more than 20 seconds between operations.
  1. Turn the SFRH and SFRR solenoids off simultaneously and check that the pedal can be depressed.

  1. Turn the motor relay on and check that the pedal returns.

    NOTICE:
    Do not keep the motor relay on continuously for more than 5 seconds. If it needs to be operated repeatedly, set an interval of more than 20 seconds between operations.
  1. Turn the motor relay off and release the brake pedal.



4. INSPECT OTHER WHEEL OPERATION
  1. Using the same procedure, check the solenoids of the other wheels.

    HINT:
    1. Left front wheel: SFLH, SFLR
    2. Right rear wheel: SRRH, SRRR
    3. Left rear wheel: SRLH, SRLR
