  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  3. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY (for 60/40 Split Seat Type LH Side)

  4. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY (for 60/40 Split Seat Type RH Side)

  5. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Fold Down Seat Type)

  6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE

  7. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP

  8. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY

  9. REMOVE FRONT QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY

  10. REMOVE SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

Side Airbag Sensor (For Hatchback 3 Door Rear Side) -- Removal


CAUTION:
Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing (YARIS_NCP93 RM000000KT10EAX.html).
HINT:
The procedure described below is for the RH side. Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides, unless otherwise specified.


1. PRECAUTION
NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (YARIS_NCP93 RM00000482L007X.html).


2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag from working.


3. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY (for 60/40 Split Seat Type LH Side)

4. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY (for 60/40 Split Seat Type RH Side)

5. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Fold Down Seat Type)

6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE

  1. Disengage the 8 claws and remove the front door scuff plate.



7. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP

  1. Remove the front door opening trim weatherstrip.



8. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY

  1. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the anchor cover.

  1. Remove the bolt and separate the front seat outer belt.



9. REMOVE FRONT QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY

  1. Disengage the 8 clips and 10 claws.

  1. Disengage the 3 guides and remove the quarter trim panel.



10. REMOVE SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

  1. Check that the ignition switch is off.

  1. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

    CAUTION:
    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

  1. Disconnect the connector from the side airbag sensor assembly.

    NOTICE:
    When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.



    1. Push and hold the white housing lock, and slide the yellow outer connector locking sleeve.

    2. Push and hold the white housing lock again, and slide the yellow outer connector locking sleeve to disconnect the connector.

  1. Remove the bolt and side airbag sensor assembly.

    NOTICE:
    Loosen the bolt while holding the side airbag sensor assembly because the side airbag sensor assembly pin (stopper) is easily damaged.
