Front Seat Assembly (For Hatchback Driver Side) Reassembly

Engage the 2 hooks to install the seat track adjusting handle.

Install the 2 seat adjuster cover caps.

Install the separate type front seatback spring assembly with the 4 bolts.

Torque:

42 N*m{428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf}

Engage the 2 guides to install the seat cushion edge protector RH.

Install the screw.

Engage the 2 guides to install the seat cushion edge protector LH.

Install the screw.

Engage the 2 guides to install the seat cushion edge protector RH.

Install the screw.

Engage the 2 guides to install the seat cushion edge protector LH.

Install the screw.

Engage the clip and install the screw.

Engage the hook to install the front seat cushion lower shield RH as shown in the illustration.

Engage the clip and install the screw.

Engage the hook to install the front seat cushion lower shield LH as shown in the illustration.

Engage the guide to install the reclining adjuster inside cover RH.

Engage the guide to install the reclining adjuster inside cover LH.

Engage the 2 claws to install the front seat cushion lower shield.

Install the front seat side airbag assembly with 2 new nuts.

CAUTION:

1. The nuts must not be reused.
   
2. Make sure that the separate type front seatback spring assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.
   

Torque:

5.5 N*m{56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf}

Engage the 2 clamps.

Using hog ring pliers, install the separate type front seatback cover to the separate type front seat back pad with 6 new hog rings.

NOTICE:

1. Be careful not to damage the cover.
   
2. When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.
   

Temporary install the front seatback cover with pad. (w/ Front Seat Side Airbag)

Install the front seatback cover bracket with the 2 nuts.

Torque:

5.5 N*m{56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf}

NOTICE:

1. For vehicles with side airbags, the side airbags may not be activated normally unless the front seatback cover is securely installed.
   
2. Check that the strap is not twisted after installing the bracket.
   
3. Install the bracket securely.
   

Fasten the 2 zippers. (for Sport Package)

Align the protruding portion of the front seat headrest support with the installation groove of the front seat adjuster frame.

Engage the 4 claws to install the 2 front seat headrest supports.

Using hog ring pliers, install 3 new hog rings.

NOTICE:

Do not soil or scratch the front seatback cover.

Using hog ring pliers, install 3 new hog rings.

NOTICE:

Do not soil or scratch the front seatback cover.

Using hog ring pliers, install the separate type front seat cushion cover to the separate type front seat cushion pad with 14 new hog rings.

NOTICE:

1. Be careful not to damage the separate type front seat cushion pad.
   
2. When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.
   

Using hog ring pliers, install the 2 new hog rings.

NOTICE:

1. Be careful not to damage the cover.
   
2. When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.
   

Engage the 5 hooks and temporary install the seat cushion cover with pad.

Engage the 2 hooks.

Engage the 3 clamps to install the front seat side airbag wire harness. (w/ Front Seat Side Airbag)

Engage the 4 hooks to install the seat cushion cover with pad.

Fasten the hook and loop fastener. (w/ Front Seat Side Airbag)

Connect the seatback cover band.

Engage the 2 claws to install the front seat cushion inner shield.

Engage the clip and 2 claws to install the front seat cushion shield.

Install the screw.

Install the vertical adjusting handle with the screw.

Engage the claw to install the reclining adjuster release handle.

Install the front seat headrest assembly.

for 4 Way Seat Type:

1. Install the front seat inner belt assembly with the bolt.

   Torque:

   41 N*m{420 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf}

   NOTICE:

   Do not place the front seat inner belt over the convex areas of the front seat with frame adjuster.

2. Engage the clamp.
   

3. Engage the 3 clamps.
   

4. Connect the seat position airbag sensor.
   

for 6 Way Seat Type:

1. Install the front seat inner belt assembly with the bolt.

   Torque:

   41 N*m{420 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf}

   NOTICE:

   Do not place the front seat inner belt over the convex areas of the front seat with frame adjuster.

2. Engage the 2 clamps.
   

3. Engage the 4 clamps.
   

4. Connect the seat position airbag sensor.
   

Using a 1.3 mm (0.0512 in.) feeler gauge, temporarily install the seat position airbag sensor with the screw.

NOTICE:

1. If the seat position airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace the seat position airbag sensor with a new one.
   
2. When installing the seat position airbag sensor, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with or is pinched between other parts.
   

HINT:

Be sure that the clearance between the seat position airbag sensor and front seat cushion bracket is between 0.6 mm (0.0236 in.) and 2.0 mm (0.0787 in.).

Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, tighten the screw to install the seat position airbag sensor.

Torque:

8.0 N*m{82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf}

Make sure that the clearance between the seat position airbag sensor and front seat cushion bracket is between 0.6 mm (0.0236 in.) and 2.0 mm (0.0787 in.).

Connect the connector.

Check that there is no looseness in the installation of the seat position airbag sensor.

Engage the clip to the seat slide position sensor protector.
