  1. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR FILLER CAP ASSEMBLY (w/ VSC)

  2. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR STRAINER (w/ VSC)

  3. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ VSC)

  4. REMOVE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR GROMMET (w/ VSC)

  5. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o VSC)

  6. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER KIT (w/o VSC)

Brake Master Cylinder (For Sedan) -- Disassembly



1. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR FILLER CAP ASSEMBLY (w/ VSC)


2. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR STRAINER (w/ VSC)


3. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ VSC)

  1. Fix the brake master cylinder in a vise between aluminum plates.

    NOTICE:
    Do not overtighten the vise.
  1. Using a pin punch and a hammer, tap out the straight pin and remove the brake master cylinder reservoir.



4. REMOVE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR GROMMET (w/ VSC)
  1. Remove the 2 grommets from the master cylinder reservoir.



5. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o VSC)

  1. Fix the brake master cylinder sub-assembly in a vise between aluminum plates.

    NOTICE:
    Do not overtighten the vise.
  1. Using a pin punch and hammer, tap out the straight pin.

  1. Remove the master cylinder reservoir and 2 grommets.

  1. Remove the filler cap and strainer from the master cylinder reservoir.



6. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER KIT (w/o VSC)

  1. Push in the piston and remove the snap ring using snap ring pliers.

  1. Push in the piston and remove the piston stopper bolt and gasket.

  1. Remove No. 1 piston from the master cylinder body by pulling it straight out.

    NOTICE:
    Do not scratch the inside of the cylinder body.

  1. Tap the flanged part against wooden blocks until the end of No. 2 piston comes out. When the end of No. 2 piston comes out, pull No. 2 piston straight out of the master cylinder body.

    Do not scratch the inside of the cylinder body.
