REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY (for 60/40 Split Seat Type RH Side)
Rear Airbag Sensor (For Hatchback 5 Door) -- Removal |
- CAUTION:
- Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing (YARIS_NCP93 RM000000KT10EAX.html).
- HINT:
- The procedure described below is for the RH side. Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides, unless otherwise specified.
| 1. PRECAUTION |
- NOTICE:
- After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (YARIS_NCP93 RM00000482L007X.html).
| 2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
| 3. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY (for 60/40 Split Seat Type LH Side) |
| 4. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY (for 60/40 Split Seat Type RH Side) |
| 5. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Fold Down Seat Type) |
| 6. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY |
Remove the deck board.
 |
| 7. REMOVE NO. 2 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY (for LH Side) |
Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw.

Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 2 room light assembly.
| 8. REMOVE JACK HANDLE (for RH Side) |
| 9. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE |
Disengage the 4 claws and 4 guides and remove the rear floor finish plate.
 |
| 10. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE |
Disengage the 4 claws and 4 guides and remove the rear floor finish plate.

| 11. DISCONNECT REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP |
Remove the rear door opening trim weatherstrip.
 |
| 12. SEPARATE REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY |
Remove the bolt.
 |
Disengage the 2 claws and separate the rear seat 3 point type outer belt.
| 13. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY RH (for RH Side) |
Remove the 3 screws.
 |
Disengage the 4 claws and the guide.
Disengage the 3 clips and remove the deck trim side panel.
| 14. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH (for LH Side) |
- HINT:
- Use the same procedure as for the RH side.
| 15. REMOVE NO. 2 SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY |
Check that the ignition switch is off.
Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
Disconnect the connector from the No. 2 side airbag sensor assembly.
- NOTICE:
- When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
Push and hold the white housing lock, and slide the yellow outer connector locking sleeve.

Remove the bolt and No. 2 side airbag sensor assembly.
- NOTICE:
- Loosen the bolt while holding the No. 2 side airbag sensor assembly because the No. 2 side airbag sensor assembly pin (stopper) is easily damaged.
