Headlight Dimmer Switch (For Sedan) Removal
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
POSITION FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
REMOVE STEERING PAD
REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER
REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE
REMOVE WIPER SWITCH
REMOVE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH
Headlight Dimmer Switch (For Sedan) -- Removal |
- NOTICE:
- After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (YARIS_NCP93 RM000000UYX0BYX.html).
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
2. POSITION FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD |
Using "Torx" socket wrench T30, loosen the 2 bolts completely.
Pull the steering pad toward you.
Using a thin-bladed screwdriver, release the locking button.
Using a thin-bladed screwdriver, disconnect the 2 connectors.
Detach the horn terminal.
4. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY |
Remove the nut and place matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and steering column assembly.
Using SST, remove the steering wheel assembly.
- NOTICE:
- Apply a small amount of grease to the threads and tip of the SST center bolt before using.
5. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER |
Remove the 3 screws.
Disengage the 2 claws and remove the steering column cover (lower).
Disengage the 2 claws and remove the steering column cover (upper).
Detach the horn connector.
Slide the slider and detach the airbag connector.
Disengage the 3 claws and remove the spiral cable.
Disconnect the 2 connectors.

Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw and remove the wiper switch.
- NOTICE:
- Do not press the claw too hard, as it may be damaged.
8. REMOVE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH |
Disconnect the connector.
Remove the headlight dimmer switch, as shown in the illustration.
Disengage the 2 claws and remove the headlight dimmer switch.
