DESCRIPTION
The passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator circuit consists of the airbag sensor assembly and the telltale light assembly (Passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator).The passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator indicates the operation condition of the front passenger airbag.
DTC B1660/43 is recorded when a malfunction is detected in the passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator circuit.

- NOTICE:
- Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Check the passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator operation.
- HINT:
- Refer to the normal condition of the passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator (YARIS_NCP93 RM000000XFD0E4X.html).

2.CHECK CONNECTION OF CONNECTORS |
Turn the ignition switch off.
Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
Check that the connectors are properly connected to the airbag sensor assembly and the telltale light assembly.
- OK:
- The connectors are properly connected.

3.CHECK CONNECTORS |
Disconnect the connectors from the airbag sensor assembly and the telltale light assembly.
Check that the connectors (on the airbag sensor assembly side and telltale light assembly side) are not damaged.
- OK:
- The connectors are not deformed or damaged.

Connect the connector to the telltale light assembly.
Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Check the passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator operation.
- OK:
- The passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator does not come on.

5.CHECK DTC |
Connect the connector to the airbag sensor assembly.
Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
Clear the DTCs stored in the memory (YARIS_NCP93 RM000000XFE0EEX.html).
Turn the ignition switch off.
Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
Check for DTCs (YARIS_NCP93 RM000000XFE0EEX.html).
- OK:
- DTC B1660/43 is not output.
- HINT:
- DTCs other than B1660/43 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

6.CHECK INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE (AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY - TELLTALE LIGHT ASSEMBLY) |
Turn the ignition switch off.
Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
Disconnect the connectors from the telltale light assembly and airbag sensor assembly.

Using the service wire, connect terminals 23 (PAON) and 17 (P-AB) of connector B.
- NOTICE:
- Do not forcibly insert the service wire into the terminals of the connector when connecting the wire.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition D115-2 (PAON) - D115-3 (P-AB) Always Below 1 Ω
Disconnect the service wire from connector B.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition D115-2 (PAON) - D115-3 (P-AB) Always 1 MΩ or higher D115-2 (PAON) - Body ground Always 1 MΩ or higher D115-3 (P-AB) - Body ground Always 1 MΩ or higher
Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard Voltage:

- The connectors are properly connected.

Turn the ignition switch off.

Connect the connectors to the airbag sensor assembly.
Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery and wait for at least 2 seconds.
Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

Turn the ignition switch off.
Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
