Rear Trailing Arm Removal

  1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

  2. DISCONNECT NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE REAR TRAILING ARM ASSEMBLY LH

Rear Trailing Arm -- Removal


HINT:
  1. Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
  2. The procedures listed below are for the LH side.


1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL


2. DISCONNECT NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the cable clamp (labeled A) from the body.

  1. Remove the casing cap bolt (labeled B) from the body.

  1. Remove the clamp bolt (labeled C) from the body.

  1. Remove the clamp bolt (labeled D) from the crossmember.

  1. Remove the clamp bolt (labeled E) from the rear suspension crossmember.

  1. Remove the clamp bolt (labeled F) from the trailing arm.

  1. Disconnect the cable from the parking brake shoe lever and backing plate.

    1. Disconnect the cable from the lever (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001N1D00DX.html).

    2. Remove the bolt and disconnect the cable from the backing plate.

  1. Remove the 3 bolts, nut and trailing arm from the axle carrier and suspension arm bracket.

    HINT:
    While fixing the nut in place, loosen and remove the bolt.
