Front Axle Hub On-Vehicle Inspection

Remove the 2 bolts and cylinder.

Put matchmarks on the disc and axle hub.

Remove the disc.

Inspect the axle hub backlash.

1. Using a dial indicator, measure the backlash near the center of the axle hub.
   

   Maximum backlash:

   0.05 mm (0.00197 in.)
   

   1. If the backlash is greater than the maximum, replace the bearing.
      

Inspect the axle hub deviation.

1. Using a dial indicator, measure the deviation on the surface of the axle hub.
   

   Maximum deviation:

   0.05 mm (0.00197 in.)
   

   1. If the deviation is greater than the maximum, replace the bearing.
      

Align the matchmarks and install the disc.

HINT:

When replacing the disc with a new one, select the installation position where the disc has the minimum runout.

Install the cylinder with the 2 bolts.

Torque:

34 N*m{350 kgf*cm, 25 ft.*lbf}
