CHECK WIRE HARNESS (CERTIFICATION ECU - DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR)

CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR - DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA)

CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA - CERTIFICATION ECU)

CHECK BACK DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE (OPERATION)

CHECK DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (OPERATION)

ENTRY AND START SYSTEM - Back Door Entry Lock and Unlock Functions do not Operate


DESCRIPTION

Neither the entry nor unlock functions operate when: 1) nothing is output from the door electrical key oscillator (back door), 2) the entry and start system is disabled through customization, or 3) the entire power door lock control system is malfunctioning.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.CHECK FOR DTC

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn the tester ON.

  1. By following the tester screen display, check whether any DTCs are output.

    OK:
    No DTC output.

Go to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART

2.CHECK MANUAL DOOR LOCK AND UNLOCK OPERATION

  1. Check that all the doors lock when the door control switch (for manual operation) is turned to LOCK and all doors unlock when turned to UNLOCK.

    OK:
    All doors can be locked and unlocked with door control switch.

Go to POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM

3.PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR)

  1. Select the Active Test, use the intelligent tester to generate a control command, and then check that the oscillator operates.

  1. Disconnect the E63 ECU connector.

  1. Disconnect the S8 oscillator connector.

  1. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

    Standard resistance:
    Tester Connection
    		Specified Condition
    E63-31 (CLG9) - S8-5 (CLGB)
    		Below 1 Ω
    E63-32 (CG9B) - S8-10 (CLG)
    E63-31 (CLG9) or S8-5 (CLGB) - Body ground
    		10 kΩ or higher
    E63-32 (CG9B) or S8-10 (CLG) - Body ground

  1. Disconnect the S9 antenna connector.

  1. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

    Standard resistance:
    Tester Connection
    		Specified Condition
    S8-2 (SGT) - S9-6 (SGT)
    		Below 1 Ω
    S8-3 (ANT1) - S9-5 (ANT1)
    S8-8 (ANT2) - S9-2 (ANT2)
    S8-9 (TRG-) - S9-1 (TRG-)
    S8-2 (SGT) or S9-6 (SGT) - Body ground
    		10 kΩ or higher
    S8-3 (ANT1) or S9-5 (ANT1) - Body ground
    S8-8 (ANT2) or S9-2 (ANT2) - Body ground
    S8-9 (TRG-) or S9-1 (TRG-) - Body ground

    Standard voltage:
    Tester Connection
    		Specified Condition
    S9-1 (+B) - Body ground
    		10 to 14 V

  1. Disconnect the E62 ECU connector.

  1. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

    S9-3 (TRG+) - E63-7 (TSW9)
    		Below 1 Ω
    S9-3 (TRG+) or E63-7 (TSW9) - Body ground
    		10 kΩ or higher

8.CHECK BACK DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE (OPERATION)

  1. Temporarily replace the back door outside handle with a new or normally functioning one.

  1. Check that the entry lock and unlock functions operate normally (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001VGF003X.html).

    OK:
    Entry lock and unlock functions operate normally.

  1. Temporarily replace the door electrical key oscillator (back door) with a new or normally
