Cooling Fan Motor On-Vehicle Inspection

  1. INSPECT NO. 1 COOLING FAN MOTOR

  2. INSPECT NO. 2 COOLING FAN MOTOR

Cooling Fan Motor -- On-Vehicle Inspection



1. INSPECT NO. 1 COOLING FAN MOTOR


    Toyota Rav4. Aca30, 33, 38 Gsa33 Zsa30, 35

  1. Disconnect the No. 1 fan motor connector.

  1. Connect the battery and an ammeter to the No. 1 fan motor connector.

  1. Check that the No. 1 fan rotates smoothly, and then check the reading on the ammeter.

    Standard Current:
    Tester Connection
    		Condition
    		Specified Condition
    1 - 2
    		20°C (68°F)
    		5.5 to 7.5 A
    If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 1 cooling fan motor.

  1. Reconnect the No. 1 fan motor connector.



2. INSPECT NO. 2 COOLING FAN MOTOR

  1. Disconnect the No. 2 fan motor connector.

  1. Connect the battery and an ammeter to the No. 2 fan motor connector.

  1. Check that the No. 2 fan rotates smoothly, and then check the reading on the ammeter.

    Standard Current:
    Tester Connection
    		Condition
    		Specified Condition
    1 - 2
    		20°C (68°F)
    		5.5 to 7.5 A
    If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 2 cooling fan motor.

  1. Reconnect the No. 2 fan motor connector.
