OUTLINE OF THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM

  1. When the theft deterrent system detects that the vehicle is being tampered with, the horns sound, hazard warning lights flashes continuously, the dome light flashes continuously and the theft warning siren sounds simultaneously.

  2. This mode has 4 states: disarmed state (1)/(2), arming preparation state, armed state and alarm sounding state.

    1. Disarmed state (1)/(2):

      1. The alarm function (ex.: sounding) is not operating.
      2. The theft deterrent system is not operating.

    2. Arming preparation state:

      1. Delay time until arming state.
      2. The theft deterrent system is not operating.

    3. Armed state:

      1. The theft deterrent system is operating.

    4. Alarm sounding state:

      1. The alarm function (ex.: sounding) is operating (27.5+-2.5 seconds).

Active arming mode starts the alarm control immediately after the doors are locked.

Performing any of following will cause system to go from "Disarmed state (1)" into "Disarmed state (2)", when key is not in cabin*1 (key is not inserted in ignition key cylinder*2):
  1. With all doors closed, lock all doors by wireless door lock control operation
  2. Open engine hood door

  1. With all doors and engine hood closed, lock all doors by wireless door lock control operation

Performing following will cause system to go from "Arming preparation state" into "Armed state":
  1. With all doors and engine hood closed, lock all doors. Then, allow 30 (+-1.5) seconds to elapse.

Performing any of following will cause system to return from "Armed state" to "Disarmed state (1)":
  1. Unlock all doors by wireless door lock control operation
  2. Allow 2 seconds to elapse with engine speed 550 rpm or more

Perform any of following will cause system to go from "Armed state" into "Alarm sounding state":
  1. Open any door
  2. Unlock any door in any way other than with wireless door control operation
  3. Open engine hood
  4. Reconnect battery
  5. Receive detect signal from intrusion sensor
  6. Force engine to run without using proper engine start method

Performing any of following will cause system to return from "Alarm sounding state" to "Disarmed state (1)":
  1. Unlock all doors by wireless door lock control operation
  2. Allow 2 seconds to elapse with engine speed 550 rpm or more

Vehicle's horn and security horn will sound, and hazard, taillights and headlights flash for 27.5+-2.5 seconds. After alarm has ended, system will return from "Alarm sounding state" to "Armed state".

FORCED DOOR LOCK CONTROL

  1. While detecting intrusion into the vehicle and sounding the alarm, the alarm control outputs the door control at the moment the door is unlocked, and prevents intrusion into the vehicle.

    1. Detecting any of the following conditions activates the forced door lock:

      1. Alarm system is in "Alarm sounding state".
      2. Some of the doors (including the back door) are unlocked.
      3. No key is in the cabin.*2
      4. No key is in ignition key cylinder.*1

SECURITY INDICATOR OUTPUT

  1. When the engine immobiliser system is set, the security indicator light turns on and off based on output signals from the certification ECU*1 (transponder key ECU*2).
    When the engine immobiliser system is unset, the security indicator turns on and off based on output signals from the theft warning ECU.
