DTC B2789 No Response from ID BOX


DESCRIPTION

This DTC is output when the certification ECU does not receive LIN communication signals from the ID code box via LIN for 10 seconds.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.CHECK FOR DTC

  1. Clear the DTC (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001RM1004X.html).

  1. Recheck for the DTC.

    OK:
    B2789 output does not reoccur.

2.CHECK WIRE HARNESS (CERTIFICATION ECU - ID CODE BOX)

  1. Disconnect the E63 ECU connector.

  1. Disconnect the E51 box connector.

  1. Measure the resistance of the wire harness connectors.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    		Specified Condition
    LIN (E63-10) - LIN1 (E51-3)
    		Below 1 Ω
    LIN (E63-10) or LIN1 (E51-3) - Body ground
    		10 kΩ or higher

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK


3.CHECK ECU AGGREGATION BOX (OPERATION)

  1. Temporarily replace the ECU aggregation box (certification ECU) with a new or normally functioning one.

  1. Check for DTC.

    OK:
    B2789 is not output.
