Steering Lock System -- Precaution



1.PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING ON ELECTRIC STEERING LOCK SYSTEM

  1. If the steering lock actuator has been replaced, open and close the driver door. The engine may not start until this operation is performed.

    HINT:
    Performing the above operation causes the steering lock actuator to store the correct steering lock bar position.

  2. When checking for DTCs of the push button start function or checking the Data List with the engine switch off, make sure that the driver door is open.

    HINT:
    When the engine switch is off, the main body ECU may not be working. Communication with the intelligent tester is impossible if the main body ECU is not working.

2.PRECAUTION FOR STEERING LOCK ACTUATOR
NOTICE:
If the ECU aggregation box (certification ECU) and/or steering lock actuator (steering lock ECU) are replaced, open and close the driver side door to record the current steering lock position into the certification ECU. If this is not performed, the engine may not start.
