Automatic Transaxle Assembly -- Removal |
| 1. REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE |
- HINT:
| 2. DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID |
Remove the drain plug and gasket, and drain the ATF.
Install a new gasket and the drain plug.
- Torque:
- 49 N*m{500 kgf*cm, 36 ft.*lbf}
| 3. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY |
Disconnect the starter connector.
 |
Open the terminal cap, remove the nut, and disconnect the starter wire.
Remove the 2 bolts and starter.
 |
| 4. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS |
Disconnect the park/neutral position switch connector.
 |
Disconnect the transaxle wire connector.
Disconnect the 2 speed sensor connectors.
Disconnect the wire harness clamps.
| 5. DISCONNECT OIL COOLER TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Disconnect the oil cooler outlet hose from the oil cooler tube and transaxle.
 |
Remove the bolt and oil cooler tube.
| 6. DISCONNECT OIL COOLER OUTLET HOSE |
Disconnect the oil cooler outlet hose from the transaxle.
| 7. DISCONNECT OIL COOLER INLET HOSE |
Disconnect the hose from the transmission oil filler tube and transaxle, and remove it.
 |
| 8. REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET |
Remove the 3 bolts and mounting bracket.
 |
| 9. REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET |
Remove the 4 bolts and mounting bracket.
 |
| 10. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH |
Remove the 4 bolts and mounting bracket.
 |
| 11. REMOVE TRANSFER ASSEMBLY |
except K111F:
Remove the 6 nuts, 2 bolts and transfer from the transaxle.
 |
for K111F:
Remove the 6 nuts and transfer from the transaxle.
 |
| 12. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY |
Remove the 2 bolts and flywheel housing under cover.
 |
Turn the crankshaft to gain access and remove the 6 bolts while holding the crankshaft pulley bolt with a wrench.
 |
Remove the 3 lower side mounting bolts.
 |
Remove the 7 upper side mounting bolts.
 |
Separate and remove the automatic transaxle.
| 13. REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL FILLER TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Remove the ATF dipstick.
 |
Remove the bolt and oil filler tube.
| 14. REMOVE NO. 1 TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE BRACKET |
Remove the 2 bolts and cable bracket.
 |
| 15. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CASE PROTECTOR |
Remove the 2 bolts and protector.
| 16. REMOVE TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH ASSEMBLY |
