Starter (For 1.0 Kw Type) Disassembly

Remove the nut and disconnect the lead wire from the magnet starter switch.

Loosen the 2 nuts holding the magnet starter switch onto the starter housing.

Pull the magnet starter switch and while lifting the front part of the magnet starter switch, release the plunger hook from the driver lever and remove the magnet starter switch.

Remove the 2 through bolts and pull out the field frame together with the armature.

Remove the 2 screws and, while holding down the lead wire, remove the commutator end frame.

NOTICE:

To avoid interference between the brush holder and dust protector, pull the commutator end frame away at an angle.

Remove the brush holder.

1. for Starter yoke side:
   Using a screwdriver, pull back the springs and disconnect the 2 brushes from the brush holder.
   





2. for Brush holder side:
   Using a screwdriver, pry the end of the spring away from each brush and pull out the 2 brushes from the brush holder so that they are held in place by the springs.
   

3. Remove the brush holder.
   

Remove the drive lever and starter clutch with shock absorber from the starter housing.

Using a screwdriver, tap in the stop collar toward the starter clutch.

Using a screwdriver, pry off the snap ring.

Remove the stop collar and starter clutch from the planetary shaft.
